  1. The Eight Bells is nice, but always packed. Froze my bollocks off standing outside there last season. Think that was later in the year though...

I know it is an issue, I just don't think it should be. At least not among fans anyway.

I for one admitt to being irritated by an away contingent no bigger than a mini bus full, singing "where were you when you were s**t"? etc. Man City fans in particular seem to think they're the best fans in the land. We know the truth about how we've put up with thin and thin for years. I just don't understand why having more fans is necessarily better. We complain when people support a team just when they're doing well, but we also complain when they have small crowds.
  4. May as well send him out again, he doesn't seem to be anywhere near the team here.
  5. And where did they get this 'restauranteur' from, and why is he being quoted in the Sun? He watched the match? The Sun have literally gone mad, in what world does this constitute journalism?
  6. That nickname is weirdly accurate, I was wondering what he reminded me of when he runs.
  7. hope he does. If he didn't say it he definitely should, and I can't see how he could lose.

Never understood fans boasting/arguing about attendences, but at the same time criticising 'glory hunters' and the like. Clubs care about attendences because people through the gate equals money in the bank, but I don't get why fans are so hung up about it.
  9. So the nose flick was nothing, and the racism claim is most probably media bollocks then? He's just getting back on form, don't let a smear campaign derail that. Aye, he'll never be a saint, but you need players with a bit of steel.
  10. FFS, I can just imagine O'Neill and Learner hunched over the portable TV trying to lipread Joey Barton! When they've got the person he actually spoke to at the club? Mental reporting, and obviously makes no sense.
  11. Asked that many a time on here and never got a response. All I can think of is he's a battler and a hard worker. Also, short passes are easier than crosses, that's in his favour.
  12. We still need a couple more quality players in midfield, but that would be true with or without James Milner in the squad. If he was still here he would still need replacing.
  13. Who still sends faxes by the way, what is this, the 1980s?
  14. Whose place did he take for Villa by the way?
  15. I've been to the last three Fulham away games and they've all been shockers. Just a decent game of football and at least a point would do me, although no reason why we can't go after all three. I think Kinnear is realising that he needs to allow the players to be positive even when ahead, so I would expect an unchanged team and hoping for more of the same.
  16. Seems like they're getting to know the real James Milner, didn't take them long to be fair.
  17. Enrique handled Agbonlahor very well throughout the night IMO, and Duff was far from anonymous towards the end - he kept possession well at all times and had a hand in the second goal. Although the subs in previous games have been dodgy, there was no reason to make any changes last night.
  18. Didn't you hear Setanta? He has 'pace' and 'crosses a great ball'. Must be a different James Milner to the one that we had.
  19. I love him because we both share the curse of freakishly long arms.
  20. I thought the same, I said earlier the problem with Villa is that they're a bit one-dimensional. Unlike the top teams they don't have another way to play and still win. We were wise to their strengths and combatted them very well, and they didn't have a way around us.
  21. Looked like he was really enjoying himself last night, great to see. I don't think he gives away any more freekicks than any other target man, Shearer springs to mind. He probably has more difficulty getting away with stuff because of his size.
  22. Funny how some people are so vocal about a tired old debate yet rarely if ever postbin actual match threads Maybe because they're actually at the match. Which prevents them from posting any post-match comments or reveling in a good result how? Because they're at a football stadium being football fans rather than sitting in front of their TVs and computers.
  23. I agree Robster, but sadly players do get targeted. I imagine part of a referees preparation is to be ready for the players they will have to watch and the ones that are likely to get out of line.
