Is he going to the Olympics?

Whether we have Emre in the squad or not makes no difference sadly, the guy never gets on the pitch anyway. Agree we need better set pieces and a bit of sparkle in the midfield... let's hope the club are working overtime to solve this problem before the window closes.

If we could get £6m I would do a little dance of joy.
-
I think I'll get in ahead of the flood of replies and sum them up, yes we would sell all of the wastes of skin like Smudger... the sooner the better. On a serious note, I reckon the youngsters would do just as good a job, if not better.

The video's funny, and what they're saying is right, but the truth is most of the games I've played without refs have been better than the ones that had them! Seriously though, the refs have the power to demand the respect of players. If from the start of the season, starting at the top level, they started to apply the dissent, diving and other related rules properly and starting booking and sending off players, they would fall into line soon enough.

Never really understood this argument to be honest. Aye, he's still getting paid - but do you not think he'd rather be playing? It's not like he has a job he'd rather not be doing.

Awesome player, if Everton get him for less than £8m they're doing us.

Fabricio Coloccini signed from Deportivo La Coruña on 5 year deal

Will be pleased when it is tied up, hopefully it's not delaying any other potential deals. The consensus seems to be he is a quality defender, we could do with one of those. -
It's Sunday, it's half twelve, it's number one... it's ASHLEY TO SELL UP!

I bet it's great fun for him though, to be able to buy a football club as your plaything must be pretty sweet. And don't forgot he's not a lifelong fan, so he doesn't feel the pain as much! -
Sunderland's first team is still behind ours, but I think they've had a good transfer window compared to what they might have expected. Malbranque is a good capture, and probably Diouf and Tanio as well. I would say they'll definitely stay up again, the only doubt is Kenwyn Jones' injury, bearing in mind how vital he was to them last season.

Have we been in such a mess even before a ball is kicked before ?
AyeDubbleYoo replied to a topic in Football
True, we have: The best defence we've had for ages (if a little short of cover) The best manager we've had for ages The best owner we could hope for (ignoring the constant tabloid nonsense) And importantly, we haven't been as inactive in the transfer market as everyone seems to be saying, in fact we have been busy relative to a lot of other clubs. Yes, this season will be difficult and we may well finish mid-table again... but we are moving in the right direction. If you expect it to happen overnight you're in for a shock. 5 years of decline can't be corrected in one summer. -
I would chuckle if Arshavin starts the season with Zenit and Ronaldo with Man Utd, after the shit they were both spouting about moving on.

Ridiculously negative, even by the standards of this site. -

Nice to hear on SSN "newcastle say the club does not comment on speculation", even when the deal is this close to done. Good on them. -
After what KK gave us last time he is a hero, and a bit of worship is no less than he deserves! Also, the idea that he's only got shit players to work with, or that everything else at the club is crap, is utter nonsense anyway.
-
Mental how the press still seem to think Enrique is a failure. Oh forgot, newcastle defender = he's shit... my mistake.

I know, I'd be amazed too, but it looks cool. Maybe if their sponsorship deal was a lot cheaper...
-
Love the inter/toon mockup, that would be incredible - a shirt that actually looks decent to wear. And the little sponsor is really classy as well, and might actually be better as it will show up in the head and shoulders shots on TV. Listen up Mike, ditch Adidas and get this made!

On the other hand, we should have already bought Arshavin, Modric wanted to sign but we didn't stump up the money, we f***ed up with Aimar and forced him to go to Benfica etc etc. It's not perfect so far I know, but it's not a disaster. Didn't Mort say in one of the programmes that he was dissapointed Woodgate and Modric had gone to Spurs despite us offering both higher wages? I seem to recall that both clubs had apparently met the valuations of both players with their respective clubs, and Modric's proposal was rumoured to be a better deal than the one Spurs offered due to the installments. Yep, I was being sarcastic I'm afraid. What I was hinting at was that we haven't really done anything wrong yet, these players have just had better options available, and we haven't been able to persuade them to choose Plan B (us).

Sweet!

Sadly that's true, and who can blame them? If I wasn't a toon fan, and I was earning a fortune a week, I'd be off to Milan/Madrid/London in a shot. All we can do is gradually build ourselves back up to a side that will attract players for what we achieve on the pitch. That can take time, but it's more than possible. I bet Tevez and Ronaldo wouldn't be in Manchester if they weren't such a massive success - achievement can overcome geography, but it doesn't happen overnight. We were almost there but we f***ed it up, so we need to face that fact and rebuild. so they DO exist!!!! thank fuck for that! Who do?
