Hoping we've learned that lesson from Blackpool. Although actually we could easily have got a result in that game. -
It's easy to forget that Winehouse was actually pretty gorgeous when she started out. Tiote saw to that though

Wouldn't mind away to Northampton or Brentford... otherwise home please. Never thought we'd be in the hat, so that's a bonus. -

I agree apart from that bit. -
I pretty much agree, if I was making the decisions I would play him most weeks. I'm starting to hate Nolan a bit less at the moment though, which combined with Ben Arfa means Jonas has to keep his performance levels high to warrant a place. (I'm sure there'll come a time in the season when Routledge or a.n.other is unavailable of course)

Yeah, as someone said earlier in the thread, I think they were trying to play with the relaxed attitude and super-confidence of the first team... unfortunately the second string don't have quite the same amount of ability. It could have been embarrassing for them if we'd taken a couple more of our chances and they hadn't had a non-penalty. -

aye he was excellent, as was McEachran when he came on. Also thought Paddy Van Anholt was dangerous down their left. rest of their side was shite, even the big names like Terry or Ramires. Totally, if Anelka hadn't been playing they would have petered out into nothing. Great player, love the way he drifts out into space then beats the defender back inside. -

Possibly, I reckon it was to stop him getting sent off. -

I don't think Hughton will have thought about dropping Perch for R Taylor... there's very little reason to. -

I was thinking of this as well, Shola will certainly be on a high. -
Torres isn't the problem though, he's more a victim of how shit the rest of the team is.

I think we're on a massive high now, it should be possible to carry it through and beat Stoke. Especially with Tiote and Ben Arfa restored to the midfield. The next few days will be very happy ones in the camp, can only help us. I know we're in for a rollercoaster season, but I really think we can win this one. -
Shaky start for the man tonight, I thought he was set for a mare. But he totally grew into the game and turned in a very impressive performance.
-
I think he will be a good striker... he had a good game tonight. The airshot was just unlucky. He's not a right winger obviously, but he is able to dominate most fullbacks in the air!
-
My brother had lost his voice by about the 35th minute! Incredible night, don't think I've ever been to a game like it in the flesh. Results like this to really make you feel all the different possible emotions in one night. I was sure we were going out when it went to 3-3, and I was feeling the loss of the lead and the impending defeat... then it all switches round in minutes. Insane but beautiful.
-
He looked reluctant to go down the line tonight, which was strange. Maybe it was a confidence thing. Thought he had a poor game myself, but then he was involved in a lot of dangerous situations and did set up the winner!

Depends on the opposition... if it's a winnable game but not an easy one, I would be tempted to try to and mix in a couple of better players. I'm half hoping it's an away game, would love another night like tonight! -

Got in a while ago as well, what a night! We should have wrapped it up much more easily obviously, we allowed ourselves to drop too deep and were exploited by Chelsea's width and movement. Tiote obviously isn't a right back, seemed a strange decision to bring him on there. Never a penalty of course (they didn't show that on their big screen!). Thought we had fucked it up, but then Goala popped up to save the day! Like Ferguson's performance, he did well. Also thought Ranger had a very good game and won loads in the air. Jonas I thought had a poor game, although he did set up one goal and almost assist another couple! We were careless at the start of the game and I thought we were going to get Brambled, but well done to the lads for turning it around. (By the way, hideous decision by them to risk Kalou at half time) -
But that's a different sport, remember in the premiership you have to be fit atheltic style to be able to cope with the pace of the division. Yeah, obviously different sports require different body shapes and different kinds of fitness. All I was saying is that a high bodyweight that's made up mostly of muscle is a good thing generally. I'm not saying Nolan fits into that category mind! Yeah, different sports require different types of body. I'm saying player's with big physical frames will find it hard to compete in the premiership due to the nature of how the game is played i.e. Look at Arsenal. I'm not sure, I always thought small players were discarded/failed much more than big ones. Arsenal are an exception really... you could equally say look at Gareth Bale, Christiano Ronaldo etc, both guys with big builds similar to a sprinter. It's more than possible to be big and fit, it just requires more work. Obviously footballers don't necessarily have the ability to put that work in, as they also have to practice playing football!
