  1. Yeah, but if we were a bit luckier in front of goal we could have beaten them in the first 30.
  2. There's no way we were 'lucky to get a point' BTW. Yes, Pompey finished better than us but overall we were the better side IMO.
  3. A lot will depend on how Shearer manages this result. It could either be a big boost because of how we played, or crush the remaining confidence.
  4. On another day we could have won this easily. I just hope there are enough of those 'another days' left to keep us up. As we thought, it's going to be fucking close.
  5. Nothing but positives really, obviously shitting myself but the only other thing we could have asked for is a goal. Just need to repeat that and hope that Pompey don't get a half-time boost.
  6. This is literally the definition of a 'must win' game, biggest for a decade IMO.
  7. Does it ever make a difference when a manager appeals for the fans to be loud?
  8. There are far too many whingers in SJP, that's true. But the reality is that you will never fill a stadium of that size with hardcore fans, if you want a decent capacity you will have to carry the casual ones too. That's why it's stupid to judge teams on how many tickets they sell.
  9. Happiness does not come from any of those things. christ i was pissing about man, have a sense of humour for once kind of agree with djmattis though about it - if he's that f***ing unhappy he should return all the money inter have pissed up the wall while he's been trying to get his head together then see how he feels* i guaran-f***ing-tee you he'd be a lot less happy as a binman or a toilet cleaner mate incidentally, as you seem to know, where does happiness come from then? *if he's got genuine mental problems then all of this is moot by the way, however no-one seems to be suggesting this so he's essentially just being a crying little bairn, until i'm told otherwise EDIT: just to clarify this grates on me a bit for a number of reasons not least that i work like f*** in a shitheap of a country away from my family for weeks on end where i spend a lot of time not particularly happy - the difference is i don't have millions of pounds in the bank so i can just throw in my chips and f*** off home 'cause i don't fancy it any more there are millions of people losing their jobs and homes around the world and this pisspot is turning his nose up at being a top level pro footballer, f*** him Same argument could be used towards endless things. People dont see things from others perspective, they see it from their own. There are obviously millions far worse off than you who could have a go at you for claiming your not happy enough even though you have a job & a family. That you're unhappy you dont get to see them for weeks, when they cannot see them atall. etc etc Hard to appreciate what you have unless you've experienced being far worse off for a long period of time, same for anyone. Cant hold it against him tbh. Exactly, you only get one life on this planet, if he's unhappy then he owes it to himself to do something about it. Maybe he's just one of the few players with enough intelligence and self awareness to think about these things. We might complain about our shit 'normal jobs' and lives, but in reality we're in the richest 5% of people on this planet or something like that. So if Adriano isn't entitled to be unhappy, neither are we.
  10. Sure the goal of the season is still to come, the most important ones certainly are.
  11. I just thought because our kit is striped it was difficult to put a name and number on and make it look OK. So it needs a plain coloured panel for that. Naive?
  12. Owen looks rough in that ad, like he's just off a 36 hour bender or something!
  13. Don't think there's any reason to say that Oba is better as an 'impact sub' than as a starter. He has the fitness and energy to play the whole match, so we should start him IMO.
  14. Just get Ameobi on the back, he will be here whatever happens.
  15. Saw us play a couple of terrible Fulham teams before Hodgson took over there. We weren't much better like!
  16. 35,000 is a lot, but I can see why non-fans would want to go. I wouldn't mind a trip to a wembley final, no chance of it being with Newcastle is there?
  17. Liverpool with Owen tore us apart a few times didn't they. Maybe not all-round best team but Owen was always deadly :-[
  18. I'm exactly the same, he is genuine quality when confident and playing in a half decent team. He's one of the last players we should be replacing in our current situation.
  19. Fucking hell! The Pompey game is ridiculously important, the fact it has come down to this is mental... if I was a player I would be shitting bricks at the prospect of this game. The way Glen Johnson and Pompey attacked this week we will struggle as well. Not sure I can even watch this one.
  20. Staying up could well be putting off the inevitable... although relegation will be dreadful for the club, there will be quite a few positives from it No there won't.
  21. The criticism Shearer is getting is unwarranted IMO. There's only so much you can do with a hamstrung squad. I agree, the lack of the Shearer effect is as much an indictment of the players as anything else. Don't think he's done anything massively wrong, maybe there is no manager that could transform our useless players.
  22. The Shearer effect depends on the fans as well I guess, we need to be 100% behind the team like never before for the remaining home games.
  23. I think Blackburn could still go down, I would love it if that happened to Big Sam. My relegationometer is now at about 5.5, I reckon if we played the end of the season out 100 times we would survive about 45% of them. Don't know how I'll handle relegation, don't even want to think about it.
