  1. Firstly I’m uncomfortable about the state of football, particularly the premier league. Football clubs should be community assets, not playthings of rich people. The PL itself is the biggest driving force behind this. Secondly I would rather the money for our club came from somewhere 100% clean, but I doubt that exists. I’m saddened by the fact that takeovers like this exist, or have to exist. But I’m still going to try my best to enjoy it. I think the best thing we can do is acknowledge this difficult situation and do our best to walk the line. It makes us look like idiots to pretend this dilemma doesn’t exist - but at the same time we’re not responsible for it. FWIW I don’t see questions about our new ownership as attacks on the fans (although obviously I haven’t read everything). It more seems like people raising this issue because this deal is in the news. That’s the job of people like Amnesty and we should welcome that we have people like that looking out for human rights. The other PL clubs objections deserve a special mention mind, they are shameless, ridiculous and comical at the same time. Cheeky fuckers should absolutely be told to fuck off.
  2. This is the best for me. Amateur shitshow from top to bottom, jobs for people have no business being anywhere near the place.
  3. Don’t do ‘this club is our club’ or a new era or anything like that. Do Saudi mags. Absolute plums.
  4. I think they might raise eyebrows like
  5. I just can’t believe the brass neck on the other PL clubs Its incredible, they tried to destroy the league a couple of months ago. Absolutely shameless bullshit.
  6. We really just need a CM and a striker (and a new manager) to stay up easily. It’ll be really interesting to see how big a leap forward they try to make, or if they prefer to just buy a bit better than what we have.
  7. Ah well, that’s just an idiot.
  8. I’m not really sure people talking about rights are really blaming the fans in any way, are they? They’re not saying football fans are responsible for deciding either, just that the people we’re now owned by are very morally dodgy. I get that they should be asking these questions to the government and corporations and banks etc, but sadly that’s not how news works.
  9. It’s a new era, for jokes as well as NUFC.
  10. Stan, please make sense someday.
  11. I definitely wouldn’t be following the club at all if it wasn’t for this place.
  12. Hopefully ‘typical NUFC’ is a thing of the past now.
  13. I doubt they considering people at Lampard’s level anyway. Maybe for the interim but not for the long term.
  14. Same. In particular I think Lampard would be absolutely insane. Look at what Tuchel has done compared to him. We need the Tuchel, not the Lampard.
  15. Jesus On the positive side, probably explains why he hasn’t been sacked yet.
  16. Great on Newsnight, yeah. From 26 mins if anyones watching on iPlayer.
  17. This environment should be exactly what a conventional supporter's trust needs. Much easier to navigate than before.
  18. Strange time to appoint a manager, maybe too long for an interim one but too soon for a world class one. Conte working with Richie and Kraft is a hilarious thought, but so is a Graeme Jones getting 2 or 3 class players. Weird, it’ll be interesting to see which way they go.
  19. Just watched his first interview after buying us - 8 years after he took over
  20. Staveley’s interview does suggest it’s possible that Bruce will still be in charge for Spurs. Unless this review of operations is going to be very quick I suppose, it doesn’t take long to work out he’s shite.
  21. Wanting your own club to lose and concede goals is an absolutely bizarre feeling. I was at the point where I wanted our attacks to break down and opponents to score, just because that’s the only thing that proved Ashley wrong and made his way of running the club seem wrong. Absolutely mad really.
  22. Honestly horrific and not something I’d wish on fans of any other club. If you’d asked me what kind of owner I would have liked, a British sportswear billionaire would probably have been top of the list. Sat in front of him at an away game in the necking pints with the fans times. Thought it was going to be class. Then he basically possessed the club like a parasite, leached it to death and stole it from us all. Renaming the stadium FFS, it would be like having the Aldi Eiffel Tower. It’s almost impossible to explain to other fans what it was like. You should support your club through thick and thin - that’s founded on the premise that your club is trying to compete just like all the other clubs. That logic just ceased to follow. Rafa was a ray of hope but it was always temporary, you knew that he would ultimately be incompatible with Ashley and be forced out. And that only a truly desperate or terrible manager would ever last. It’s probably not an exaggeration to say that Mike Ashley has ruined a large part of the lives of tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of people.
  23. Hopefully before the next home game, wonder if it depends on any existing contracts etc.
