  1. But unless we can make a seismic leap forward next season, why would Howe not be the man to lead us? We can't become Man City next season because of PSR. It will take years and depends much more on finances than anything on the football side. Even the stadium probably won't be sorted for another decade.
  2. I still think it's weird because on paper our wingers are more like the type of wide forwards who should be able to link up well with a withdrawn striker. Murphy the exception, but the others. He obviously has to be a bit stronger and ideally hold onto the ball more reliably, but loan striker has generally always been quite a low-percentage position.
  3. Switched off the game after their goal but seemed like he did a few decent things on the highlights. Agree with the ways to get more out of him. I would keep playing him despite the frustrations since Wissa has been terrible. Actually said before that I might think about moving Wissa back to the wing if we can sign another striker.
  4. Surely footballers can't be allowed to just lose all hope and chuck it with one average season? I find all this talk about people being disillusioned and they'll definitely want out a bit much. Did they think we would just crush the PL every season without any chance of a blip?
  5. I'd be more concerned about the opposition's G/A, TBH.
  6. It makes a splash then some ripples
  7. Depends if he feels at all Scottish, imagine he doesn't.
  8. He’s nothing like Adama Traore guys.
  9. What are you on about Luke?
  10. I don’t necessarily disagree, I just feel like this is more a discussion about our chances in the game rather than which players are trusted etc. Think we can assume Howe has to believe we can still get through, and won’t approach it in any other way.
  11. There's one thing being trusted but there's another thing being trusted to overturn a 2-0 deficit away to Man City.
  12. Possibly, not sure how important previous Januaries are to this point though.
  13. I haven't watched anything from Luke Edwards or similar but I think we're adding quite a lot of drama and importance to something which is basically a very normal action for many football clubs (not signing people in January).
  14. We bought a new RW this season, he’s just been rubbish.
  15. If we score before they’re do it’ll create some level of panic. Then we’ll see what happens.
  16. We have more information now though, and we have more players who we already bought. It's not like the two time periods are the same.
  17. Well we always have limited PSR room I assume. It doesn't mean it was literally impossible to make a signing, it just means we judge it's better to keep the money for the summer.
  18. I think he just means we have limited PSR room so we might decide not to gamble it in January. I don't think it's too complicated.
  19. Honestly never doubted the logic behind the Wissa signing, not going to change my mind just because he hasn't impacted much yet. We needed someone who knew their way around and could be relied on while the other new striker was integrated (or be backup to Isak). Made sense to me. Maybe 5-10m too expensive but I don't tend to worry too much about fees because they're mainly a matter of judgement or circumstance.
  20. I think Wissa was probably the most logical and solid signing we made TBH. Experienced but not too old, good movement with an eye for goal. Athletic enough to press. He just got a bad injury just after he arrived.
