I’m sure Howe would agree with most of this, but as a professional manager the main thing he needs to consider is winning the game. That’s probably where the main divide between fan and professional opinion would be.
  2. I guess it’s their main chance to go out drinking in a week.
  3. A few, not that many. Just as many corners, throws and players lying on the ground as there is scrums and line-outs in rugby. Agree the engagement is different in some ways, but there’s plenty of people chatting to their mates throughout a football match as well.
  4. Also isn’t an all-round player and a lot of teams won’t want a pure finisher.
  5. Did anyone claim there was a conspiracy anyway? It's more that everyone links Isak to Arsenal because they don't respect us as a big club and they do with others. And they mention it too much. Haven't been following the social media saga TBF.
  6. Clearly he’s brilliant at listening and following instructions, he’s doing amazing work this season. Signs the coaches are going to the next level with him as well, these left foot shots are a relatively new addition. As a confirmed hater in the past, happy to be able to like him now.
  7. Of course they are but I’d be surprised to see him start for them for any significant length of time. I don’t know who’s in their squad though. I assumed he’d be a rotation option for them.
  8. Yes but I think he was intended to be 3rd behind Wilson. That said, I would rather play him than sign someone else of a similar profile.
  9. Duran is quite limited though, he’s purely a shooter. I don’t see him starting for a top European club.
  10. I didn’t know he had a YouTube channel TBH. No way I can watch him for anything approaching 15 minutes.
  11. Waugh isn’t too bad but he shouldn’t be doing that horrific podcast where he plays the stooge for Caulkin and that other mess.
  12. Decent point actually.
  13. Rugby is basically the same as football but the fans are trusted because they’re more posh and the culture is different.
  14. Duran capitalising on a purple patch to make untold wealth. Smart lad.
  15. Should definitely be allowed to bring your drink to your seat. I wouldn’t buy one anyway probably, but to sell pints, charge high prices and treat the customers like children is definitely not how it should be. Wouldn’t need to leave early or smash a pint in 5 minutes.
  16. Fair Interesting also that almost none of the commentary mentions the actual rule.
  17. Is it the FA who decide these appeals? I don’t understand all the different organisations involved.
  18. I mean, the decision was clearly wrong so in that sense it’s correct to overturn it. But the discussion around it has been very unfortunate.
  19. Doesn’t seem to be a solution that achieves a better/nicer stadium but also nobody wants to spend any time there. The reason people don’t spend as much time and money in SJP is obviously because of the city centre location, but also because the offerings in the ground are so terrible. You can’t really aim to have such a bad fan experience that it supports local pubs. That’s just weird and could never be the aim for any stadium improvements. FWIW I can imagine that people might meet some friends inside the ground for a quick drink when they won’t necessarily go the pub together. Both going to the match, just hang around a bit for a quick pint.
  20. Probably the best footballer of all time TBH.
  21. They need to create a team of VAR officials that is separate from the on-field refs IMO, and break the assumption that they are there to support the referee. They should be there to spot things the ref has missed and correct mistakes. Things like this clear and obvious thing shouldn’t exist. Look at the video, decide what the right decision is, advise the referee. Should be normalised for the referee to ask for input as well, like in rugby. He should be able to stop the game and say ‘I’m not sure what happened there, please let me know’. Or something like that. Some random ideas but I think VAR is not as good as it should be because it’s operating under these weird conventions of authority and personal relationships.
  22. It’s out of central London but it’s in a really busy area with lots of places to go around and on the route from whatever station you use. It’s not the nicest area and not comparable to Newcastle city centre. But it is Tottenham.
  23. Funny how many of Miggy's goals for us came in the inside left channel, a position he basically never got into in the second half of his career here. Wonder how he would have done if he hadn't been made into a RW.
  24. Christ, as if local news ratings could get any worse.
