"Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has suffered a thigh injury that is set to rule him out of England's Nations League games against Italy and Germany."

"Newcastle might have infuriated Ajax even further after reportedly making a £34million offer for Edson Alvarez before last Thursday’s transfer deadline. The Eredivisie side were left fuming during the summer window as several of their key players were prised away. The Magpies, who have enjoyed a positive start to the season under Eddie Howe, apparently prepared a £34m bid for midfielder Alvarez ahead of the deadline. Chelsea also made a proposal for the Mexico international." mail.

Former boss of the PGMOL, ex-Premier League referee Keith Hackett, called the VAR decisions made on Saturday "horrendous" and said the decisions of top officials were having a negative knock-on effect on grassroots referees. "We are in the fourth season of using VAR in the Premier League and we are making a pig's ear of it," Hackett told BBC Radio 5 Live. "At the moment it is awful and it's having a knock-on effect, making life very difficult for referees at grassroots level when they see their senior colleagues fouling up in such a bad way. "It's not just the decision on the field, it's the impact on spectators who are now saying to me the game is corrupt. The game is not corrupt, what we have is a poor delivery of VAR in this country that needs to be rectified now."

kneel before him and kiss his ring.

how many mistakes has mason made? surely its time to sack him off?
-
agreed. when a striker wants to keep himself onside he makes sure he's just in front or in line of the defender to make sure. just because he's then leaning forward getting ready to sprint beyond the defender shouldnt make him offside.
-
looks like its slowly unravelling there and its starting to affect the players. owners more than coaches fault but he has spent money poorly.
-
from the bbc Referees' body PGMOL has effectively accepted controversial VAR decisions made at Chelsea and Newcastle were wrong and will fully co-operate with a Premier League review of the incidents.
