You know rightly how EPL clubs feel about the League Cup. The most important thing about the game tonight was getting Jonny Evans some match practice for the weekend. Sounds like he was excellent. It'll take him a few games to adjust lets give him until Christmas and if he hasn't shown glimpses by then well know he wont adjust. He probably wont adjust full ly until he has a season under his belt.

We cant really work out if he is decent or not due to Pards. We create bugger all so if we want a striker to score a significant amount he has to do alot himself. I like the look of aspects of his game and he'd be an asset to most mid level PL clubs. Hell play probably the next few games then be dropped by pards and replaced with Chucky or ayoze who will probably get 5 games then be dropped if he hasn't scored a few

If Tiote leaves try him in DM Alan. He's got fret and he's fat apparently so he can use his excess weight to his advantage there.

Pards managed to challenge for a cl slot on a shoestring budget a couple of years ago.

Well of course, with Aarons, De Jong and Cabella the other team will have to drop deep and keep bodies back, throw Sissoko in and could be quite dangerous as long as he learns how to play centre mid role and improves passing, maybe have a DM alongside him, throw in Remy up front This in theory could work beautifully with tiote alongside sissoko only tasked with breaking up play. One concern I would have is the creativity in the centre of the park. Sissoko is great at driving forward but lacks creativity. If de jong dropped deep looking for the ball and dictated play it could work but Inam not sure its his natural game. In any event we would never see any of this as Pardew is a wanker

What Pards fails to realise is that work rate out wide is nice but if we actually offered a threat out wide then our opponents would be more prone to sitting a little deeper. All we do with Gouffran and Sissoko out wide is invite our opponents to step up and push onto us forcing us to drop deeper and due to the fact we are unorganised at the back this is why we get raped most games.

I am not convinced we need another striker. If the ones we have signed aren't good enough they should't have been signed. Signing 15 strikers is not going to help the situation as Pardew will play at most 2 up front and we have 4 or 5 if you include Gouffran. There is the obvious that if they have a 'good engine' Pardew will play them on the wing but we may be better signing an actual winger for these purposes. I would rather sign a winger, creative CM or centre back. Not that it matters we'd be crap if we sign Messi, Ronaldo, Bale and Suarez as they probably don't carry enough 'fret' to be let off their defensive duties.

Mad how well go out and spend money on players when the real issue is Pardew is shite. Ashley or Charnley must clearly not realise this as with our recruitment team we could have stayed midtable if we'd spent a fraction of what we have this summer with someone competent at the helm.

This is the first match I have watched this preseason. I inexplicably had some blind hope after the signings I am not sure why but the way we were set up was so naive. i hope that with so many signings The King will be sacked if we perform terribly, we will most likely play terribly but well probably pick up enough points because whatever anyone says we have a highly talented squad thanks to Graham Carr. If we didn't have such a good scout Pardew would have went ages ago. With someone like Laudrup I would be excited at where we could finish and have an amazing season but it will be the same old crap. Probably a decent start then the players become disillusioned at the brand of foot ball we play.

What pisses me off is that we have an immense scouting team, possibly the best in the land. If we got some cunt in with a clue and saw real progression we would challenge the top 6, but well do enough for the king not to get sacked we will finish probably 9th and our better players will either be exiled by the king or become disillusioned.

I have a feeling Pardew is trying to get rid of him but he wont go. He is probably hoping the king will fuck off soon when we have a shit start.
