  1. Go on, ring em. I'll just ring em
  2. Barclays probably wouldnt authorise an overdraft when its possible the club may have to pay out 25M basically probably around what they'd be willing to give Moat. I wasn't being entirely serious like, but yeah no doubt that was a big part of it. Though as far as I've heard Ashley and co had £9m listed in the data room as the maximum they would have to pay. 9m is still alot though, its like buying a flat for 100K that is worth 100k when it needs foundation repairs that will cost 9 grand. YOu either knock it off or tell them to sort it out.

  4. the idea is with stability and financial prudence in spending then the club can generate its own finance. Everton are an example of a club that competes at the top level and only spend within their means without the resources of a chelsea man city man u Everton are going backwards though. They generally start seasons poorly due to injuries, plus they are missing Arteta who is vital to them, shame he's so injury prone, could be world class if given the correct stage.

  6. e.g.? Avram Grant? Good manager imo, but is he really proven? I know he's done more than Shearer before you start, not sure he's got any experience of getting sides up and establishing them on (probably) tight budgets. Also doubt he'd come, but not necessarily a joke like MJ or Hiddink. He did well with Chelsea, any manager that gets a side into the CL final is worth a punt imo. A good scenario would be Hughton taking us up and then someone like him coming in with a few bob to spend, not loads say 15-20m, he has good connections so I reckon we'd see a good few players coming in for not much money.
  7. Good post that, we don't really know what the new owners financial strength is atm, until we do is crossed fingers time. No point in being pessimistic. He's taken this long so if he does take over I'm sure we'll be able to compete on a similar financial level to that under shepherd. FS at the end of the day he never pumped any money in and fair enough we had too much debt but if you're organised and don't give out crazy wages we should have enough to compete for at least midtable in the prem for the foreseeable future if not higher depending on the management.
  8. We would generate more turnover if we finshed on or around Everton's positions due to the size of our ground. If we cuild slowly we'd generate more money, in fact I'd guess if we got promoted this season even with Everton finishing higher our income would be greater.
  9. And that's only good news IMO. I can't understand the people who think that because it's taking him a long time that he therefore can't afford it etc. As I've said in that other thread really. Yup, lets hope he puts a Moat round our castle. Aye but the c*** can't afford to fill it with water! Do you know who is backing him? Marcus Agius
  10. Darlington CE, obviously a great candidate considering the number of promotions they have ahd in my lifetime.
  11. Don't know what to think, if his business plan is dependant on us getting promoted then, I suppose its ok but theres a chance we don't and we'll are skint unless Moat somehow has found a massive backer.
  12. The only way that would happen is if his agent is George Dubya Bush
  13. Dont agree with your first point but I hope you are right about the the second and last points, I have my doubts. He wasn't world class but be fair to the lad, he hardly kicked a ball for a couple of years, he's quick, strong, has an eye for goal, is experienced and thats exactly what we need. He hit the post twice I think, which is unlucky and he should have had a pen had they gone in you wouldn't be having a pop at him.
  14. He had a decent game, he's not even match fit. He could have had a couple. He'll come good imo.
  15. He's a liar he didn't even text or ring me last time after giving him my number. He said he would, he didn't.
  16. He's the only player we have in midfield who streches defences, yes his end product may not be great but he gets into good areas and has actually got a few assists this season.
  17. Exactly, I'd rather him on the right so he can get forward and put some crosses in, Enrique is going to be amassive miss, hope he's not out for long.
  18. F41nt and I don't know who ther other guy is, must be from here though. Pilko was in it but then decided not to log in.
  19. The thing is, I'm one of those 'realist' (pessimistic) people, yet I still think we'll piss all over this league (injuries permitting). Yes we'll lose a few games here and there, but ultimately, we're playing against some teams that just aren't very good. I still think our squad needs more depth incase of injuries, but obviously thats not a massive concern for the game tonight! Aye we are bound tyo lose some matches but we should walk this league, in my opinion we've played s**** all season, no creativity, no pace, misplaced passes. The only reason we are winning is because we currently havea squad which should probably bein the bottom5/6 of the prem whereas the other teams if in the prem would be lucky to get 10 points West Brom excluded. so the only reason we are at the top is because we are better than the rest ? Yes but by our standards the football we are playing is shit compared to what we've seen decline over the past few years. I don't know about others but I didn't watch much Championship football before this season and am shocked at how bad the teams are. I think people are being pessimistic because they are looking at our performances from a view point which they know and thats the prem, these performances in the prem would see us beat on most occasions but in this league that slight extra quality we have makes a massive difference.

  21. Amazingly - that is completely correct. I say "amazingly" because those four clubs are specifically the four "always nothing / mid-table mediocrity" clubs, that for over ten years we could legitimately look DOWN on with a form of 'contempt'. THEY were never going to achieve anything . . . WE were getting it right (or often 'about to' get it right) with a far huger turnover than them, massive 50,000+ stadium always full, fame and great worldwide support and favourable TV coverage, lots of 'big name' players, etc, etc. NOW look at us, relative to them!!!! The sheer scale of our recent decline is incredible - we have comfortably achieved the very near-impossible! Aye, but their fans are all knobs and we're not.
