I can see Martins heading back up to a team that's in Europe like Fulham or Everton. I'd love to keep Martins here but there's no chance he'll play a league down and take a pay cut.

Same here. Even watching it played over on ssn it just hasn't fully sunk in yet. Not sure when it will but it's gonna really hurt when it does. I'll never forget that 2nd half as long as I live for their utterly disgusting lack of fight and passion for this club. I hope the ones that showed no fight have their careers fade into obscurity.

The more I think about it I really am looking forward to us possibly bringing a number of youngsters through. We've produced very little in terms of home-grown talent over the last 5 years or so and this is a big opportunity for people to step up.

Is it true we're only using this home kit for 1 season? I've heard a few people say but as it's normally 2 seasons for a home kit I'm not too sure.

Agreed. A couple of my mates were saying he's not showing any promise as a manager and the tactics are rubbish and what-not. It's really frustrating to think people can be so judgemental so quickly, and I believe thats why other people judge our fans. Even Keegan in 92 was given 4 months or so and could bring players in whenever he wanted due to no transfer windows. Shearer has been given 8 bloody games, 8 games in the premiership with just over a month to save us and people are expecting him to be an instant magician and repair damage which was already done and irrepairable, a gutless squad with no ounce of pace or creativity. To be honest I think if anything we're lucky to have been in with a shout on the last day. If he's given time and a good budget I firmly believe he'd be able to build a good team.

Must be expecting too much to want our team to stay up now.

I'm not putting the sole blame on any player because they've all been shite and our relegation proves that.

I looked forward to him coming here at the beginning of the season and defended him a few months back as I was willing to give him time but when the going got really tough, he has proved himself to be a gutless, talentless, weak, worthless excuse for a defender. Good riddance to him.

On the Keegan issue I'd at least like to hear something from him. I feel he owes US that. However now that we're down I think we need to offer Shearer the job first and if that comes to nothing then we need someone proven in straight away so they're given the time to rebuild a team good enough to get us back up. I think Curbishley or Venables would be worth a gamble if Shearer leaves but it's vital we sort it out asap and end the mis-management once and for all.

I really want to know why Shola came on. I agree with that I was screaming for Jonas. It made no sense.

I've never felt so sick in my entire life after not only the 2nd half performance but seeing hull and the fucking mackems stay up. In spite of all this I don't feel we can judge Shearer from 8 games with that fucking gutless team. Give him time and then we can judge him. Good riddance to our worst season in decades. We'll be back.

I'll be gutted if we lose Martins like. He can still improve a few aspects of his game but we really need someone with his style who can turn a game on it's head with his pace, power and trickery.

Not to mention the 4-1 last season. Also throw in the on-pitch shambles at home under Souness and it makes things a bit more daunting.

I agree this day is really dragging like. I can't really tell if I'm nervous or up for it I'm just really fidgety lol but 6pm tomorrow just can't come quick enough tbh.

8 goals in 21 (6 subs) in the league, 10 in 24 (7 subs) in all competitions. So even including this sh*t run since January, has pretty much 1 in 3. Ok that's fair enough, I was 3 off counting on one hand but the bottom line is still the same and he couldn't give a shite. We could do with freeing up his wages as we need to rebuild our entire team.
