Longstaff has been a breath of fresh air so far. Puts himself about nicely. Hopefully Rafa keeps him around (if Rafa stays).

It'll be like that montage with the blackboard from the Speed 3 episode of Father Ted.

Setting up of companies to hide profits, misappropriation of funds, selling of land for his profit not the clubs, handing over club sales to Sports Direct, no investment, lack of interest... Pretty much everything. Nice, thanks. I only caught the others speaking in the last 5-10 minutes.

What points did Chi cover?
-
Seems to have good ideas on the ball and the physicality to carry them out. However he does seem quite clumsy in execution but I'm still looking forward to seeing what he can bring to our team.
-
So sad. Thoughts and prayers are with the 2 on board and their families. Hope they're found safe.

No one is saying that. The point is those that continue to go are continuing to give Ashley money. Money that isn't reinvested in the club. You kinda therefore lose any right to complain about no money being spent when you happily hand over £500+ a year knowing what he's like. Honestly the chants make no difference at all. This is indeed the problem, and it's why things never get done as we intend them to. Things always "blow over" due to inconsistency and bickering among our own fanbase. Knowing what a sly scumbag Ashley is, knowing the way Ashley feels about Newcastle and its people, and knowing the way he chooses to run the club, why pay hundreds to watch it deteriorate while he lines his pockets?
-
I mean, it's The Sun. However... Maybe this is why Ashley sees him as the best fit? He knows we'd have no spending power after the club is sold and it's like one last way for Ashley to put us down.
-
He's ripped the life out of the club, and the city. How this bloke can be a "fit and proper person" to run a football club, even at this point is an absolute joke. Everyone involved in allowing Mike Ashley to step into our football club without any protection for the club, or the club's people can fuck right off and hang their heads in shame. He's absolutely destroyed our reputation not just on home soil but throughout Europe, destroyed our hope, and even destroyed our ability to care anymore. Newcastle under his ownership are the definition of a "zombie club", just simply existing to let him take every penny out of it. Sad times.
-
Agreed. Might even be worth converting into a left back at this point to utilize his strengths, without having to rely on him to be the provider for Rondon or whoever it may be.
-
Was more bothered by the Wolves defeat. Still, losing regularly and scraping points is not much fun. That and the draw with Fulham (which felt like a defeat). Defeats like this to bigger clubs are just totally numb nowadays.
-
It's because he's playing at his level. He scored 6 goals for us last season. Sure, he might get a few more with a better midfield creating chances but I think Rondon brings more to the table.

Put a club legend's name over the top of each one.

Absolutely tragic day all-round yesterday God bless.
-
Should have lobbed a couple of stink bombs at him. Could have stunk his car out on a permanent basis like that episode of Seinfeld with the b.o.

Summary of today's game
-
That 4-3-3 was brilliant man. Martins doing the leg work and Owen/Viduka poaching. Just imagine where it could have went if Keegan was backed that summer

We got the poison. We got the Kenedy.
-
Fantastic effort that. Well done to all involved.

Definitely.

"Rafa can have every penny the club generates" x 2. Rafa surely has enough evidence for a constructive dismissal case, should he walk! Sorry to be so blunt, but people saying this kind of thing have no clue as to how constructive dismissal cases work. I hate Ashley and what he's done to our club as much as anyone, but him refusing to spend money is not in any way grounds for a constructive dismissal case. He is well within his rights to spend nothing, if he so desires. Here's some examples of what constitutes constructive dismissal, from a prominent law firm's website: a unilateral significant reduction of your salary, or the threat of a reduction ; being demoted without good reason; allegations of poor performance which are unfounded; disciplinary proceedings which are manifestly unreasonable; a complete change in the nature of your job; harassing or bullying ; stress at work, that has not been properly addressed; failing to make reasonable adjustments where you have a disability; being forced to work in breach of health and safety laws. Literally none of those apply, and certainly "being generally useless, changing his mind about funds and being a bit of a smug cunt" simply aint on the list. He's a shite, even horrific, employer and totally incompetent and leaching the club dry, but I can't see where a constructive dismissal claim would come from unless you want to illuminate me? See Keegan, Kevin. Such a nonsense response. What happened to Keegan isn't automatically the same as what's happened to Rafa. Sure, they've both been fucked about by the same shit owner, but to suggest that because one successfully claimed constructive dismissal the other has the same claim is palpable craziness. Don't get me wrong, maybe Rafa *does* have a case, I'm not saying he doesn't, but if he does it's based on what's been said to Rafa, not what happened with Keegan. And what's been said to Rafa has been said in private and we're not privvy to it so to claim he's got a constructive dismissal case is just silly. We simply don't know, and to go further on the evidence we have got there's no case to answer at all. Lied to about transfer funds and offered out to Spain. Rafa has been told he had to sell to buy, whereas if he'd known he wouldn't get the money back then no doubt he'd have kept what he sold. All Ashley does is lie. The minute Rafa started speaking out on the club needing to spend, Ashley has wanted him gone. Keegan wanted Schweinsteiger. They low-balled the offer (just as they did for Hyypia), then pocketed that money when the offers were rejected. Same thing is happening with Rafa.

Same here, gone for Arnautovic for the goals. And hope that West Ham might be decent after the money they've spent. Yeah I ended up going with Arnautovic as well. I've convinced myself that Fulham might put up a good fight against Palace, and West Ham could be a bit of a slippery one for Liverpool.
