I think 1996 was our best team in the last 25 years. That pool of players to choose from was absolutely ridiculous, especially when you look at some of the players who missed out. If we're talking since 1998 then I'd probably go with 2002-2004. We should have done much more than we did with that team.

Definitely see Chelsea going back in for Lukaku. Didn't Lukaku say he wants to move back there? Anyway I'd love to see us get the lad in on loan. To me he'd be one of the most positive signings we've made in years. From what I've seen of him he tends to play quite similar to Lukaku.

Just goes to show how downtrodden we've become under Ashley that some are concerned about such a paltry sum by current standards. £6m hasn't been a lot for years. If it doesn't work out then so what, it's not going to bankrupt us. We need a squad, and a number of options. Maybe some day we might hit the lofty heights of the magic 8th and we can tell future generations of what a legendary team we had.

I'd like it a lot more if the sponsor wasn't so big and light. The darker shade of blue looked better in the second pic posted, as well as the proportions. Overall it's not that bad a kit though.
