He is one of the best at NOT losing the ball in our own half. He tends to lose if further upfield as he tries something.

How many goals and assists did he get this season and last?

180 cm. Would hope for someone with some height. MYM is the most talented of our CBs, not sure Taylor beside him will be much good for him. Need another CB if/when Colo goes. Preferably someone tall so AP can be satisfied with that and actually look at signing a striker who can score.
-
If we are interested i wonder who else we're looking at to play alongside him. To give him the balls to attack in the air. None of our current lot have looked able.
-
That could get him sacked the way they're going through managers!
-
Will Hughes has looked a top prospect from what little i've seen of him. Would think he's be more likely to go to a club like spurs though tbh. That kind of clever ball playing midfielder does seem more like their kind of thing (just being honest).
-
Bony reminds of Jason Scotland tbh. Also, don't think he's got a good enough 1st touch for the prem. From what little I've seen of him, when cushions it the ends up about a yard or more away from him then he has a shot. He wouldn't get that space in the Prem.

Douglas and/or N'Zonzi are about that height I think.
-
Lacks required mobility. Nice eye for a pass though. You mean someone like Anita? Not tall enough to get on the Blackpool Big One thus unlikely to start for us

Or develop his approach. How many coaches/managers can you think of that have redeveloped their approach and philosophy? I can only really think of one. Not sure TBH. What is unique about this situation is that he knows he has a certain style of player to work with, he knows the owner expects better, and he doesn't even seem to have a style that's uniquely his own anyway. Hope he can improve anyway. To be crude about it. I think in his head he knows but his problem is that his ar*ehole falls out at thought of playing the ball on the deck around the midfield where ity might be intercepted and one pass takes an opposition player through his ridiculously high defensive line.

Sell Tiote, Cabaye, Gosling (might have to give him away), Colo (wants to go), Willo (obvious). Buy Capoue, Belhanda+ a striker, sign Douglas and Tom Ince on a free /don'tactuallythinkwe'llsignanyofthese
-
I think we'll buy a forward (whether they're 'of note' i won't know) and we'll try and get another CB if Colo goes. Also think we'll try and replace Cabaye if he goes but it might just be someone cheap. Maybe N'Zonzi.....he's tall enough if nowt else

Carroll couldn't even outscore Cabaye last season. And that's a Cabaye with apparently a stamina problem.

http://infostradalive.com/post/50236186401/analyse-this-newcastle-united-on-target-for-one-of In the end we got one more point so fell just shy of the top 15 by dropping 24 in total. The last paragraph on Fergie is noteworthy though. A 30 point decline was worse than Pardew's. It would be if we had a man of his calibre in charge.

Come on, Wullie. Bit of realism here!

By the time a player reaches his age, shouldn't he be able to that already? It isn't kind of like too late to teach him that?
-
Well, tbh, i haven't seen much of that (the closing down) but that maybe more me than him.
-
Wouldn't that depend on the midfield in general as well though? Does everyone have to be a ball-winner? I agree what he does off the ball is very important as well mind. I guess though, if Anita is the deepest lying player he's GOT to be good at this. Or good at intercepting. Or his positioning is such that he forces the opposition to make decisions they don't really want to. Tbh, i haven't much/any of that from him so far.
-
For a CM, he has do offer more than just moving the ball around quickly though. For his position it's what he's doing without it that is so essntial. And what he's offering to win it back.
-
He's scoring record so far for WHam is just under 1 in 4, Carlton Cole's is just over 1 in 4. Also, apart from 2 assists against already relegated Reading at home on the last day of the season he managed 2 assists all season. Same as Carlton Cole. Now, i'm not saying he definitely wouldn't be a success here, but given the money being talked about, i would say there are other players worth taking a risk on. And the first criteria would be, don't look for a player who spends his time in recuperation from injury as a piss artist. You know, just your basic professional attitude required.

For once I agree with the inane childish use of a smiley here. WTF man !! Well, it was a joke, doofus.

Said that a while ago. Colo as player manager was my little dream scenario

Pulis is exactly the type of coach Pardew needs to help him develop. Will also help with corners and FKs. Should offer him an assistant manager position. Might tempt him....
