That’s not enough really. To only have a player who can tackle. He’s very capable of carrying the ball forward and he can play the ball forward to a decent level as well. Unfortunately he didn’t do those 2 much at all today. You can’t only put in a performance when a certain other player is on the pitch.

I thought he was quite disappointing today tbh.

Surprised we haven’t tried to convert him to a RB. Has the pace and stamina of a modern FB and it keeps further away from the opposition goal. Maybe he can’t the hang of the positioning.

Tbf Bruno was holding his groin after he came on against Tranmere.

If he’s going on loan surely his wages will be the same? Or can clubs pay more as an incentive?

He must have a reasonable release clause. He’s not going there otherwise imo.

The loan fee could a factor. Also, frees up a squad place.

If it’s midfielders we’re still looking at, Amadou Haidara would do for me. Such a clever little player. His timing and temperament. Looks cooooool under pressure. Not as good Bruno with the ball but looks better than him without it.

Dortmund looking to sell Akanji who is in the last year of his contract and has shown no indication of extending with them. Would add pace to our CB pairing. Think he’d be great alongside Botman. Would really complement him.

Better we get as a team the more we can charge for players we don’t need (perversely). Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone by next summer. Did well yesterday though. Outstanding character and good to see he’s well above the level of Tranmere. Not could say about all of the rest.

De Gea is an excellent keeper like. Surely that’s not open to discussion? Had a few rough moments which are always costly in his position given the likely cost of such. Still one of the top keepers in the league imo.

Longstaff is really not suited to a deeper role. His awareness of players behind him and what space to occupy is poor. He’s a decent sub for the 1st team if we want to press. His passing is ok imo and he can use both feet pretty well. I’m sure it helps having local lads who are die hard fans playing for the club. Helps the culture and generating togetherness. He’s not awful, just average and if his wages are low, for where we are I reckon that’s ok.
