Is it possible the buyers are holding off until it’s known whether the clubs will have to pay back part of the TV revenue if the season is not restarted? Just speculation on my part. Maybe Mashley is trapped in a contract that didn’t foresee this and so he can’t back out either. Might account for the complete confidence the buyers apparently have. Maybe they know it’s all done and dusted but they’re the ones procrastinating so as not to incur that debt if it happens when they are the owners. Let Piggy pay it back.

I understand how people feel Rafa would build the club. How he would pay attention to the finest details, revamp or just plain scrap and start again with all things football. The training facilities, the medical centre, the youth team, nutrition, the lot. That’s a lot to do though. I wouldn’t be surprised if the new owners want to bring in a top DoR to take care of all that and leave the 1st team manager/ coach to concentrate on just the 1st team, like.

I think the Dortmund job will be open for next season (Favre has not been good enough) and I reckon there’s a strong chance Poch will be a name they’d be very interested in.
