  1. Nor me. I can only think it means he's very close to an exit.
  2. We've gone through a total change in our purchasing policy. We're now actually doing some proper scouting, and buying young, promising players, and not just from the UK. At the same time, we're moving out massive waged dross and players who don't really contribute what they cost (Stephen Ireland, Bent, Given, Dunne etc etc). Something had got very wrong when, shortly after MON left, our wage bill was £10m more than Spurs, and about £20m more than Everton's.
  3. I've never heard of him, either. Or any of them, to be honest. In fact, I'd never heard of any of our signings before, bar Okore.
  4. German media saying we've agreed a fee with Nuremburg for Hiroshi Kiyotake, French media saying we've agreed a fee with Bordeaux for Henri Saivet. No idea about either of them, but they are apparently both young. Also, some rumours about a Bulgarian player called Milanov, or something, and that Belgian dude. Whose name I can't remember. Yes, him.

I followed him for about a week before I realised I could take no more. Most of his activity is taken up by arguing with people doubting his credentials. He's clearly some 14 year old sat in a bedroom somewhere, having the time of his life.
  6. The more I hear Kinnear spouting nonsense like this, the less I think you have to worry about. He's made himself to be a joke figure six weeks before the season even begins. He's now sounding like a Joe Kinnear tribute act. He's clearly fucking mental, and as a result, won't last very long. It's not going to be fun for you, but on the bright side, it won't go on for too long.
  7. Leeds are a warning to lots of clubs.
  8. The press down here have been stressing - for a few weeks now - that we're not interested in Belhanda, and have never bid, and won't be.
  9. I think you are spot on. It is sickening, and that is indeed the way it always happens.
  10. I think he's actually a pretty promising player.
  11. Fairwell, then, Bret Holman. You ran around a fair amount, but you weren't very good.
  12. There is no need, Joe Kinnear created that database on his commodore 64 . . . .after creating the commodore 64. Of course, his greatest achievement was his invention of the BASIC programming language.
  13. The only job I'd trust that self serving cunt to do in a pub I run would be to wash out the piss-flooded bogs every morning. With his stupid fucking tongue.
  14. I must say, I too raised an eyebrow at that. If he was angry at not keeping the fanbase onside, what on earth did he think appointing Kinnear to this role was going to do?
  15. This lad. Top blerk. This Am in tears of laughter. For the right reasons, though, he really does sum up the utter fucking frustration people feel from being football fans.
  16. They haven't done any research at all, Gough especially is embarrassing. Gough is so incredibly, mind-bendingly thick, he barely manages the extremely low level of English language proficiency required to keep TalkSport listeners happy. Listening to him struggling and trying to convey his thoughts on an issue is the aural equivalent of watching a puppy trying to pick up a balloon.

    Alan Pardew

I agree entirely. It is the perfect opportunity for him to go and keep his stock as high as possible - in fact, doing so now, he'd come out of it looking much better than had he done so last week, or before this Kinnear nonsense. I doubt there's a person in this country (well, maybe two) with more than a passing interest in football who wouldn't entirely understand if he legged it now, while he's got his chance.
  18. Surely a few quid on Pardew to be first manager to go next season would be like practically free money? No manager with an ounce of pride or self-respect is going to put up with reporting to Joe Fucking Kinnear.
  19. God, the bit at the end where he starts talking about being able to pick up the phone and call Arsene Wenger whenever he likes .....
  20. I just listened to the thing on Talksport, and am actually blushing, it is so embarassing.
  21. If it turned out that Cisse's talk with the club about Wonga was to be held with Kinnear, I'd pay good money to be a fly on that wall.
  22. Nah, you stayed up last season and that will have helped them all. Stick to your policy IMO, it will come good. It's not so much I don't believe in the policy, I do, just that it'd be best served by more experienced heads here and there.
  23. Dein is probably the most accomplished football administrator of the last few decades.
  24. I was thinking about this this morning whilst reading the paper. When we appointed McLeish, a common line of thought was that, had the club been taken over by a malevolent force for evil, intent on doing as much damage to the club and to relations with supporters as possible, it couldn't actually have done a better job of doing that than what the board actually did. That's precisely how this appointment looks. I doubt Ashley wants to screw up his own investment, but if he wanted to screw up the club as much as possible, what would he realistically have done that could have been more damaging than this?
  25. Apparently completing signing of Nicklas Helenius in next two days, then Antonio Luna from Seville, and less likely but rumoured, Dennis Praet from Anderlecht. They're all young(ish) and promising, which is very nice, but at the back of my mind is a big flashing alarm saying that we need to be buying in some more experienced heads rather than just potential.
