  1. Christ. So sad to see someone’s life take such a grim nosedive like that.
  2. worth pointing out Watkins has almost as many assists as goals this season. Pretty sure he’s second only to Haaland. i had written him off (on here too) not that long ago.
  3. I reckon - untrained eye as I obviously don’t watch you that often - that now with no Europe and no proximity to a LC final, you’re going to find things a lot more manageable. It’s a long season and we’re not even halfway through yet. On top of which most of the teams around you will have Europe to return and distract from March (February for some of them). i certainly think it is way too early to read much into points gaps at this time, it’s more of a case of being there and thereabouts, in touch. Look at Man City’s recent run of results for example. Nobody predicted that.
  4. Ah that explains it then. Yeah, he looked like he was shitting bricks. Feel bad for him, as a non Newcastle fan, I like Trippier, always seemed the decent type.
  5. I hadn’t seen any of this match and turned on just after the first penalty. Dunno what happened with Trippier prior to that but as he stepped up it was written all over his face he was going to miss. Clearly looked absolutely not up onto it in terms of mindset.

It really got worse under Gerrard when Beale left. However, it was pretty shit when he was there too.
  7. Well, my main take away from Liverpool in this match is that, in terms of how much of a threat they pose to us in the title race, I am not too worried.* * simmer down, it's just a joke.
  8. Normally for a Man United - Liverpool match, my main hope would be for neither side to get anything and for an asteroid impact event on the ground, but today I very much hope Man United win this.
  9. Fucking commentator has to wind up big style - just in case - every time someone takes a shot. IT'S MO SALAH! as he tamely rolls a grasscutter at Onana.
  10. Why not? There's no reason for it not to be, the only reason they'd look at it would be if it had potential FFP impact, ie was some sort of work around that involved paying inflated figures.
  11. re Adidas - one of our co owners is the largest private shareholder in adidas so I wouldn’t be at all surprised
  12. Finn Azaz who is on loan to Plymouth and was there all last season, and is doing well. I can see him going for 10-15m easily. A player who has never played for us. We’ve invested a huge amount in the new inner city academy which is literally around the corner to make it even easier to tap into local talent. Cameron Archer, Louie Barry, Tim Iroegbunam, Jacob and Aaron Ramsey (and the third brother, Cole) - all from within a couple of miles from the ground. There is a reason Man City invest so much in youth even with their money. It’s always been important but with FFP is even more so.
  13. that’s because he isn’t even remotely like that.
  14. Ha ha. Got to love football. Going to miss Kamara though, that’s three matches I suppose? Ben Mee can fuck off too, the nasty little psycho still not forgiven for crippling Wesley.

It reminded me of that Half Man Half Biscuit track, "Shit Arm, Bad Tattoo"

Pagliuca is a Villa fan. Has a tattoo and everything. A really bad tattoo in fact.
  18. Was a surprise to be honest, he’s basically an academy kid. Although Martinez was on the bench so maybe Unai has finally realised the terror of Robin Olsen.
  19. Just watching at the end there, it looked like Trippier was limping as he walked across the pitch following the final whistle.
  20. You were unlucky to get drawn into what is effectively a group of death.
  21. Another name here in the "if he got injured, there'd be trouble" stakes - Pau Torres. So much of our attacking play comes from him, his range of passing is exceptional, not just "for a defender" but "for anywhere on the pitch". He's so important to how we play.
  22. I think he's done a brilliant job, but you can't be part of the elite without winning something (and ideally, a lot) - that's the difference between, say, Klopp and Guardiola, who have hoovered up silverware, and Arteta*, who is a manager doing a very good job but not elite. Winning something does not make you elite, but not winning anything makes you not elite. Or something like that. * The plastic-haired cunt.
  23. Prior to the competitions starting, I had a treble on Man City, Liverpool and us to win the three trophies. Still reckon that's on.
