  1. Watching this game, and I know it is a friendly, but there are a number of players who really aren't ever going to be good enough at this level, despite having had enough chances. SWP, Bridge, Jenas, Brown for starters. Bridge isn't just shit, he's laughably shit.
  2. Luke Moore has a great future in the game. But his brother Stefan looks even better. Oh yes
  3. Wasn't that Ngog dive terrible? Ha ha ha ha ha.
  4. When he played for us, Aaron played every week like he was playing a former club. Bless. I'm glad he's doing well now, though, he's a good pro.
  5. See also Gareth Barry against us this season, and the same player at Birmingham City, whose fans - slightly bemusingly - booed him. I thought they'd have cheered him, but hey ho. Any way, he definitely let it get to him against us.
  6. Sidwell is rubbish. I still don't really know what the fuck he actually does.
  7. He's very close to Villa still, tears in his eyes on the pitch after the match last season when the Holte End were singing "One Gary Cahill". I genuinely think it gets to him coming back (he was crap last season at our place, too). I still think selling him is MON's biggest transfer mistake (well, except for Harewood, Knight, Davies, and Sidwell. And Carson).
  8. heskeys carrying an injury i think. Yes, fortunately Heskey is injured.
  9. ...and Tom Huddlestone, that kinda came out of left field. Cahill from Bolton again in the squad, and still haven't got the cap. When we sold Cahill I was absolutely gutted. I still think he will be a top, top player. But yesterday against us, he was absolutely awful. The sort of performance which would have international managers running a mile.
  10. Warnock in the England squad and rightly so.
  11. I've said this 10000 times on here, and 9999 times when he was still playing for us - Dave, please interject here and confirm this, lest anyone say it is sour grapes - but Barry is not the player you see turning out for England. He goes missing for massive great chunks of the season. He's doing the same for City he did for us.
  12. I would hardly call it terrible. The important fact was that we won the game and easily deserved to do so. Today we saw Plan B for the first time, and it was good. I just hope he sticks with it now rather than going back to type next week Incidentally, VitalVilla is a horrible little site, inhabited by drooling trolls.
  13. That's it, really. When we can play on the counter, and play fast balls out to the wings, we're sometimes really exciting to watch. When we can't, we are crap. We're either exhilirating or abysmal. Today was a bit different, we played far more to feet, and had plenty of movement off the ball.
  14. I must admit, I thought he was bonkers. I was wrong. I was also underwhelmed when we signed Dunne. He's no Martin Laursen, but Dunne for 5m or Lescott for 24m ...... *scratches head*
  15. heh, love how loads of villa fans thought it was time for o'neill to go earlier in the season. To be honest, we have been abysmal for large parts of the season. What do you think's up with you at the moment? I just cant seem to work out Villa. Porous central midfield. Play the ball out wide all the time, but if that doesn't work, we have nothing creative in the centre of midfield and 4-4-2 with two wingers, you have to have one niggly fucker in teh middle. NRC back today and see what happens. I#m not a fan of his, but he's a prickly fecker and makes things hard for the opposition in the middle. On the bright side, defensively we've been immense. Collins and Dunne have looked unbelievably good, Warnock is the best signing MON has made in a long while, and even Cuellar is starting to look the part too. On the bright side, we've only played well three times this season (Chelsea at home, Liverpool away and today) and we're still, what, fifth, is good.

  17. You heard it here first. Stephen Warnock will be on the plane to South Africa. If Bridge goes ahead of him, Capello is fuori di testa
  18. Why play a dedicated right back at right back when you can stick an out of position centre half there? Cuellar is suspended this week, so we shall see who gets the nod, Luke Young or Beye.
  19. Steve Bruce - potato for a head, scored the 7 minutes of extra time goals that derailed our title tilt in 93, managed the shit. Lots of reasons to think he's a shit wanker, but he's a decent manager. West Bromwich Albion - I'm supposed to think they're shit and hate them, as a Villa fan, but I don't Adrian Chiles - he's alright. Zat Knight - he's alright.
  20. Against us he was booed every time he touched the ball, and it definitely got to him, he was poor. Yesterday against Blues they (surprisingly) did the same thing, but it had the same effect Still, I've been saying on here for about three years now that Barry goes missing for weeks / months on end.
  21. Barry and De Jong in midfield look incredibly one-paced, which is the same problem we had with Barry and Petrov there. Ireland is a quality player, I agree with you
  22. Can't believe anyone would pick Vermalen - goal threat he may be at times, but he's so suspect defensively. Also - Ashley Young (someone picked him on page 1, can't be arsed to look back) - have you seen him play much this season? He's been awful, as he was for the second half of last season.
  23. Bar Newcastle United, who is your favourite team? Aston Villa. Which team do you hate the most? Life's too short to hate. Who is your favourite player? Currently, James Collins. I haven't seen a defender ping 30 yard passes around like that for ages. Better than Messi, like. Which player do you have the most hatred for? Life's too short to hate.
  24. Naming rights for an existing stadium are worth shite all, because everyone uses the old name. Cisco Park / Budwieser Stadium etc might work on a new stadium that nobody knows, but people will still call SJP SJP, which sponsors know, and is reflected in the price. Has the club spoken publically about this? If so, Christ, now low rent and tacky, and what a gigantic cunt Ashley is. If not, he's still a gigantic cunt.
  25. Ha ha Guzan has saved four pens tonight. 1 in normal time, and *three* of four in the shoot out.
