What a load of absolute horse shit. They set the stupid rules up to perpetually keep the same suspects - at least one of which only got there through cheating - at the top, and to force a situation whereby ambitious clubs are forced to sell their best players - esp home grown ones - most likely to those same clubs. So some clubs realise there’s a way around this if they have a mutual liking for each others players and structure the deal as not a swap. They *coughs* are doing nothing wrong at all. They’re maximising wriggle room within the rules. If that is not acceptable then it shows the rules are fundamentally flawed.

We do all die. In the end.

Jesus Christ, 40m? Then it'd be another 20m for his BUPA subscription. Then you just know he'd be off to Milan fashion week where he'd trip over his own vagina and be out for 6 months.

Not too sure about the luxury lifestyle tbh, not much having it large on a Saturday night over there. Also, reckon the sun stops being a positive when it's like 6000 degrees every day. You're effectively accepting your career is over and opting to go and hoover up loads of money to do next to nothing.

The Dogheads fans love Kilman.

I am starting to wonder if Boehly is mentally ill or going through some sort of mid life crisis. How is it even possible to have so many players?
-
Genuine question, though, how is it being cheated? I agree, it looks a bit, well, odd, but it's not like the clubs are selling each other furniture for £15m a char or something. Or hotels. And even then, if the clubs have players the other club likes the look of, and it makes sense to mutually sell, then that's fair enough, that's a by-product of this shitty PSR system, forcing clubs to decide to work with each other.
-
I know Wes Edens (our other owner) gets on well with Boehly but I fail to see how giving us tons of money for a teenager helps Chelsea.
-
We don't exactly need rescuing, but I do agree, this is most unusual. Then again, look at it another way, PSR is forcing clubs to do things they don't want to be doing, and although Kellyman is meant to be promising, I'd rather bring in another 20m for him and minimise the need to sell an established player. Also, it shows that plundering other clubs academies is a strategy worth doing. We set out a deliberate policy 5 years or so ago to hoover up the best talent from the academies of other clubs in the midlands. That's how Kellyman came (from Derby), Iroegbunam and several others (from Albion), Chukwuemeka (Northampton). Then we develop them in our own academy and sell them for significant sums of money. The rules are shit, but you have to find a way to play along with them, I guess.

how does that differ from selling a player to someone else? Thats the case whoever we sell Duran to.
-
how would that avoid ffp?
-
The contract will be valid from 1st July, so next financial year. But this is clearly going to be involving a degree of selling someone to Chelsea, as you said, Duran probably. Strange move, though. Firstly, Digne was excellent last season. I suspect he's had another big Saudi offer, though. Secondly, Moreno is more than decent, but struggled with injuries last year. Thirdly, the deal for Luiz to go to Juventus is supposed to include Illing-Junior coming here, and he is a left back (isn't he?).
-
So-so. Hasn't had many chances, to be fair, but when he has, he's looked like he was struggling. Another 10m in sales for the academy, though. What with us all knowing the most important thing is not football, but accountancy.
-
It is bewildering how anyone is supposed to break the established order when they're not allowed to spend the money they have freely available, and are forced to sell players against their will, whilst some clubs just seem to be able to spend any sum they want, on a near weekly basis in some cases.

Terrible news, poor Sarkic. I didn't even know about Campbell.
-
Ha ha ha, just choked at Hatfield mention, bravo.
-
They are but hopefully think that *checks notes* Enzo Maresca can get the best out of him more so than Emery can.
-
re Jhon Duran's attitude. recently left a rented house. Threw a party before he did so. House completely trashed - light fixtures pulled off walls, holes in walls, furniture destroyed etc etc He's a proper fucking nutter, no wonder Unai wants him shifted.
-
Actually, thinking about it, I reckon PSR in general will bring down market prices considerably this summer. Less money doing the rounds will do that. Although obviously, Chelsea can just sell themselves another house or something.
-
If it is Illing Junior and McKennie and 20m, then that's not hugely under market value. Although I do agree with your general point re FFP. If we are maneouvring around PSR constraints then that's understandable. Also, looks like Chelsea are giving us 40m for Jhon Duran. He's very promising but apparently a nightmare in training and prone to petulance, something even other players have hinted at. 15 - 40m in a year is good going.
-
Pretty amazing really. Eric Dier playing for Bayern Munich, managed by Vincent Kompany. imagine saying that a couple of years ago. You’d probably just assume there was another Bayern Munich, some sort of tribute club in Yemen or something.

I think we’ll sell Douglas Luiz. He’s a very good player but was well off it most of the second half season (strangely coinciding with when he got back together with that Alicia Lehmann). What makes me think we’ll sell him in particular is his original transfer fee will be fully amortised so he’s pure profit. Move him on for 60m+ and that gives us plenty of PSR room to work in. We’ll have Mings, Buendia, Ramsey and Kamara back from long term injury, plus will have shifted Lenglet, Zaniolo and Coutinho off the wage bill. This is why we brought Monchi in, work within the FFP rules and engage in ducking and diving, spending as little as possible to add depth. This also shows why Barkley for almost nothing would be a very good signing.
-
It's much better than looking at the bench and seeing Calum Chambers or Dendoncker. We need to improve our strength in depth. At the end of the season, we were utterly fucked by injuries and the impact of a long season. Given we're working within the constraints of PSR, it's a very intelligent signing. We are playing at least 8 Champions League games next season, I'd argue that improving the supporting cast is every bit as important as the natural starters. In fact, I think we need to get away from the concept of 'first XI' and think in terms of the entire cast, as they'll all play their role.
-
Ha ha ha, that's so brilliantly, obviously a typical Everton signing. It must be so depressing supporting them.
