Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to a topic in Football
Pardew said Cabaye was our designated penalty taker. Cabaye also took just about every corner and free kick. I remember when we had Solano, Robert and Shearer standing over our free kicks. With Cabaye going we haven't really got a free kick specialists (not counting Ryan Taylor who is injured). -
Exactly. He's one of the worst forwards (I won't call him a striker) that I've ever seen in a Sunderland shirt. Woeful doesn't even start to describe him. He was good in the Netherlands Eredivisie. A possible warning there for NUFC regarding de Jong who was also good in the Eredivisie but has done nothing in the German Bundesliga.

NUFC supposedly had a bid of around £8m accepted for Gomis last Summer. It fell through due to agent demands/player demands/the clubs changing the price. Whatever happened, £8m was far too much for Gomis considering he only had 1 year left on his contract. I'd be happy to get Gomis now or signed up now to arrive in the Summer. He may be 28 years old but he actually scores goals which is more than de Jong has done for a while. As a replacement for Shola I'd think he'd be right up Ashley's street when it came to cost. He'd have to pay signing on fees and the like but that must be cheaper than paying a transfer fee.

If it's true, Gomis could have saved himself the bother of those English lessons he was taking.

Loaning one of Chelsea's numerous attacking midfielders must be a realistic option. Just remind José Mourinho that NUFC have to play Chelsea's rivals for the title and I'm sure he'll happily loan us a top player he isn't playing. Pardew is supposedly friends with José Mourinho too.

French chairman always slag off NUFC. It's "water off a duck's arse" to NUFC.

West Ham fan? No we were awful second half, impossible to deny. We invited pressure and they duly obliged. Shola and Dummett subs were pointless and negative, I f***ing hate Shola and Pardcunt's constant obsession with him. Anita was brilliant today and got dragged off for that pointless oaf. Gouffran needs to drop out of side for HBA now as well, another game where he was anonymous and did f*** all. Gouffran provided the assist for the first goal.
-
It's all well and good to say "if they launch over the midfield , trust your defenders to pass it out to your own midfield instead and continue the shape and attacking intent you had and continue the dominance you achieved in the first half" but Anita went off on the 60th minute and our midfield weren't passing well or keeping the ball very well in the second half.
-
Out of interest, did the people complaining about Shola coming on watch the game? In the second half West Ham were bypassing the midfield by launching the ball over them. Anita wasn't as involved in the second half as he was in the first half. Shola actually won headers from Krul's kicks (we'd won next to none before he came on). Shola helped us hold on to the ball longer. Is Shola great? No but until we get a striker who can win aerial battles and hold up the ball he's unfortunately the best we've got at doing that.

I'm sure if Martinez rates Sylvain Marveaux NUFC would definitely sell him to Everton. You'd think some club would come in to try to loan him.

from my seat behind the goal at the gallowgate he was laughing and gave a thumbs up to the strawberry corner, certainly wasn't angry Aye he took it well. Also Taylor getting a drink from Harts water bottle when waiting for a free kick. I saw him turn around. I sit quite a bit away from the pitch in the Gallowgate. I assumed he wasn't happy. Procter & Gamble (or which ever company makes the shampoo) won't be happy about him laughing about the wrong directions being given on the use of their products.

How am I talking shit? What do you think Ben Arfa's faults are then?
-
I would be surprised if a top team wanted to buy him. Let's be honest, if they did want to buy him I'm sure they could get him. The only rumour that ever seems to come up is Liverpool. You get upset if anyone says anything negative about Ben Arfa. Get some perspective about him. He's not as good as you think he is.
-
When did I say he should be on the bench? When did I say he should be consistently unplayable? That's right, I said nothing of the sort. Get him in the team (starting on the right side of midfield for me). Hopefully he'll be as good as some of you think he is. I'd love nothing more.

They hate all our coaching staff. I couldn't name any of their coaching staff. Mackems hate the NUFC manager? There's a surprise.
-
I'm happy to take it back if someone can provide a screen shot of the moment proving me wrong but from where I sat in the Gallowgate the pass was the much better option. Ben Arfa did his apologetic hand wave gesture to the Gallowgate afterwards. I went to the Cardiff FA cup game mainly as I wanted to see Ben Arfa play so I'm not a hater of his. Some people seem to think he is better than he is. At his best moments he's unplayable. Unfortunately he is not consistent. If he was he wouldn't be at NUFC. He needs to work on his decision making. He always seems to want to be the hero. If he is presented with the option of doing it himself or passing to a team mate he will usually try to do it himself. It's great when it works. It doesn't look good when it doesn't.

He's greedy because there was an unmarked NUFC player on the edge of the penalty area and he chose to try the 'Hollywood' ball rather than pass.
-
The majority of the crowd singing "You can stick your 'Head & Shoulders' up your arse" to Hart. He reacted angrily to it too! Also something about him being a shit keeper with dandruff was also sung.
-
He is too ball greedy. He had two Man City players in front of him on the byline and instead of passing to the unmarked NUFC player on the edge of the penalty area he sends a daisy cutter into Hart's grateful hands. I'd be surprised if there was much demand from other clubs to buy Ben Arfa.
-
There were at least two occasions when the ball went out via a Man City player and the decisions given were Man City throw ins. The crowd went mental on those occasions.

As with all rumours I'll believe it when it happens. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/gossip/ A tiny percentage of these transfer stories come true. Check out the Rumour Accuracy charts: - http://www.footballtransferleague.co.uk/sources
