  1. Why do they keep replaying that 'goal' in slow motion? Why don't they just advance it frame by frame and freeze on the frame before the ball is cleared?
  2. Fuck! Benteke now misses the Wigan game.
  3. I can't see Chelsea getting anything here. Aston Villa look full of confidence and pace. Chelsea keep hoofing the ball long.
  4. Looking for a silver lining if Chelsea lose, Arsenal will have even more encouragement to try to get the win against Wigan as they'd go 3rd with a win.
  5. Benteke was lucky he wasn't sent off for that elbow.
  6. Come on *Aston Villa! *Whoever we 'want' to win usually doesn't.
  7. Our set pieces are shit but could you imagine what Alex Ferguson would do if one of the papers published his tactics before he played a crucial game?

  13. Agree. More proof that the media hate us. Trying to give their mate Harry Redknapp an advantage for his already relegated team. "Harry you've been warned!". Disgusting. Ban whichever paper printed that from St James'.
  14. I thought the rumour was it was a 1 year pay out if Ashley sacks Pardew? I can't imagine Ashley agreeing to any 8 year contract which would mean Pardew would be entitled to be fully paid up if he is sacked, after all, Pardew would be getting sacked for not achieving the targets in his incentive heavy contract.
  15. I don't know why I read them as they always wind me up but the comments after the BBC report are full of arseholes wanting Wigan to stay up at the expense of Newcastle. Why do people like Wigan? They don't even get that many fans in Wigan coming to see them. Apparently Wigan bring more to the Premiership than Newcastle. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22348609
  16. Arsenal need to win against Wigan to help them in their bid to secure a Champions League spot. The fact that Arsenal last played on the 4th and play Wigan on the 14th should mean they are well rested. Wigan will have played 4 games between the 4th and the 14th. Surely Arsenal can beat them?
  17. We still need a win against QPR to be almost certain of survival. Hopefully Wigan's defeat removes some pressure and we can play without fear. I still wouldn't bet against Wigan unexpectedly beating Arsenal. Wigan are like the turd which won't flush. Don't fuck up this golden, unexpected opportunity Newcastle.
  18. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/moussa-sissoko-doubt-qpr-clash-3413654 If Shola is injured Pardew may bring Adam Campbell on as a sub. At least he has pace to run at the opposition. Pardew described Campbell as his lucky charm as each time he has brought him on as a sub we've won the game. That certainly doesn't explain why he hasn't brought him on during our recent games!
  19. I thought Sunderland would win before the game kicked off so a draw is a better result than I was expecting. Having said that, another example of another club failing to do us a favour.
  20. I agree that part of the problem is that our players don't get into the box but it is also true that most of our players don't have a track record of being regular goal scorers. Think of Nolan for example. He obviously has a track record for scoring goals and he plays in midfield. He scores from open play too, he doesn't rely on set pieces. None of our midfield are known for goals. Speaking of set pieces, we don't have anyone who regularly scores from free kicks. Think of the days of Solano, Shearer and Robert over free kicks and compare it to how dangerous we are from free kicks now. We rarely score from free kicks. We don't score from corners. We rely on one striker to score the majority of our goals. When Cisse doesn't score we are really searching for someone else to come up with a goal. Shola doesn't deserve the title of "striker" based on his goal return. Other teams have defenders who have better goal scoring records. We rarely have any shots from outside the penalty area either.
  21. Whichever league we are in next season we need to go out and buy players who score goals. We are desperately short of goal scorers throughout the whole team. There is not one regular goal scorer in our defence or midfield. It doesn't appear to be a criteria for the players we bring in. Before joining Newcastle United Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Gutierrez and Sissoko didn't have track records for being regular goal scorers. Santon is the only defender to score for us this season. The fact that Demba Ba is still our top Premier League goal scorer even though he left in January speaks volumes. http://www.nufc.com/2012-13html/goalscorers.html
  22. That's one of the strange things about Tony Fernandes, he isn't a billionaire. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Fernandes Christ knows how he can afford to pour so much of his personal wealth into QPR and the Caterham F1 Team. He makes losses on both.
  23. That shot from Nolan which Elliot saved certainly looked like Nolan was trying to score to me. I think it's possible that he did.
