  1. We need Sunderland to win. Aston Villa will win.
  2. A large number of fans are already committed to going to the match next season due to our 9 or 10 year season tickets. We've already started paying for next season.
  3. He's been shite all season and yet as soon as he recovers from an injury he's straight back into the team. I'd play Bigi over Tioté.
  4. Pardew is to blame but so are the players. Most of them put in a gutless, embarrassment of an effort today. I wondered why Cabaye came over at the end to clap the Gallowgate while wearing a Liverpool shirt on his head. Don't walk around on the pitch with a Liverpool shirt after that performance. If you must swap your shirt for a Liverpool shirt do it in the changing rooms out of sight of the fans.
  5. Pardew said "We've got three or four people in that dressing room who have been in this position and got relegated and we're going to have to draw on that experience to make sure it doesn't happen again." Does that mean Shola, Harper, Jonas, Taylor and Colo to start the last 3 games?
  6. We're relying on Aston Villa or Wigan to save us. It doesn't look like Pardew or the players have it in them to save us from relegation.
  7. Just about every time we've needed one of the teams at the top to do us a favour they've let us down. The FA did forget about it Robbie.
  8. When he wasn't injured Krul only occasionally reached the height of last season. I wouldn't say Krul has had a great season. Cabaye was poor when he was carrying his injury. After his return following his operation he was good for a few games. For the last 6 games or so he has been mediocre with the odd poor moment and the occasional good moment.
  9. Just about every single player has had poor runs of form. Almost all have been out injured for multiple games at some point too. Two big reasons why we are still in a relegation battle.
  10. To be fair, you could argue that Stoke struggled last season playing games in the Europa league and then the Premiership. We haven't coped well with the extra games and you could argue that they haven't helped Tottenham either. Having said that, there's extra games to play if you get through the first few rounds in the domestic cups but we rarely have to worry about that. The Championship has more games than the Premiership so there's Pardew's big incentive not to get relegated as it would mean more games, including his dreaded midweek games.
  11. He was left on his arse a few times when competing for the ball. He needs to try to stay on his feet.
  12. If NUFC are anything to go by finishing 5th isn't necessarily a good thing if it means qualifying for the Europa League. From what I know of Everton, they don't have much money to spend. I guess Everton would need to expand their squad if they qualify for the Europa League.
  13. I can't remember anyone other than Cissé having any shots at their goal. All our goals seem to come from inside the penalty area. If you don't shoot you don't score. Considering we have Gouffran, Cissé, Cabaye, Sissoko and later on Ben Arfa, it is criminal how little we test opposition keepers.
  14. They're not. 36 points is the maximum both teams can get. Wigan are on 31 and Aston Villa are on 34. We are on 37 so we are 'safe' from finishing 20th or 19th.
  15. Sissoko seems to have developed a lousy first touch. In my opinion, Debuchy is yet to have a really good game. True. We need a striker who can knock in simple chances.
  16. "Premier League survival: Who will beat the drop and who'll go down?" http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22143766
  17. It's a shame Man U didn't win but the other results went well. West Ham and Fulham within touching distance and Wigan still 5 points behind.
  18. Only Chelsea doing us a favour so far. Come on Man U and Man City. Our opponents always seem to get a good result when we expect them to lose. If only we got good results when we weren't expected to (it would also be nice if we got good results when we were expected to).
  19. Like others, when I saw this story on-line I checked the date thinking it was an accidental post of the story about the injury he got against Atromitos. People blaming our medical staff can't think much of the medical facilities and staff at Clairefontaine either (where Ben Arfa does his rehabilitation). This season (May 2012 to April 2013) We've had 87 separate injuries reported for our squad so far: - http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/clubs/16/newcastle_united_injuries.html
  20. Transfer rumours are pointless until we know what division we are playing in next season.
  21. That period fell under the "too many injuries to important players and lack of quality squad depth" excuse.
  22. The one positive of being knocked out of the Europa league is that with no Thursday night games the team and management will have a week to prepare for each game. If nothing else it will mean the "tiredness" and "lack of time to prepare" excuses can't be used any more.
  23. Our next game will be a massive indicator as to whether we will stay up or not. We've just lost to Sunderland. The 3 points on offer would have gone a long way to ensuring our Premier League survival. Our away form this season has been appalling. If we don't get a massive reaction against West Brom (who aren't far off mathematical safety and, in theory, don't have as much to play for) then I'll be hugely concerned.
  24. He's been poor for the last 3 or 4 games. He sits way too deep. He literally collects the ball off our defender's toes.
