The game was very end to end. It could easily have gone either way. I hope Cisse, Ba and Cabaye are up to speed by the Everton game. Ba and Cisse aren't very good at holding the ball up. We could have done with a 20 minute Shola super sub appearance. Hopefully Shola and Tiote will both be back for the Everton game.

I wonder how many goals we'd score if we took 100 consecutive corners? Less than 10 I'd guess. Pardew and the coaching staff looked at our set pieces in the off season as they'd identified that we rarely score from them. We need to look again. Beating the first man would be a start!

He'll be loaned out if we can. He'll not play for NUFC. Pardew won't award playing time to someone with such an unprofessional attitude.

He's s***. Since he signed, none of the NUFC managers have seen anything in him to warrant giving him a chance. No other team is interested in signing him. We had to loan him out to a second division Spanish team last season and he didn't play much for them. He's often injured too.

International break for him to recover during (unless it's a really bad injury).

One reason we could really have done with Carroll is for corners. We seem to get quite a few corners but rarely score from them. Pardew said he'd recognised that and we'd been working on the "perfect corner". Apart from the short corner Ben Arfa won a penalty from we've looked no better so far. In the Europa League we may as well always take a short corner. The Europa League refs seem to blow their whistle for an infringement every time we took a corner.

With Ryan Taylor's injury I guess Ferguson just got one place closer to the first team. I'm sure he'll get games in the Europa League, Capital One Cup and FA Cup. Whether that's at Left Back or Left Wing we'll see.

Lille were always hoping for €10m but some on here refused to accept it and insisted they only wanted €8m as fact... We'll find out for sure in next few days if the Madrid interest is genuine... Arbeloa has been in decent form of late but Debuchy has very similar qualities to Contrao so would make some sense having them playing either side... We'll no wonder NUFC haven't got Debuchy if Lille want €10m for him. How many right backs have cost £8m (€10m is around £7.94m)? Gregory van der Wiel would be much more likely to be in our price range.

You need to watch the video. Savage discusses that move and says he did live closer. The press measured the distance from somewhere he wasn't living. If NUFC don't sign Debuchy some fans will complain that NUFC should have paid Lille what they wanted. All I'm saying is that Debuchy could push harder from his side. If he doesn't want to fall out with Lille or their fans that's fair enough but the least he could do is hand in an official transfer request. Whether that would make any difference to his price only Lille would know.
