  1. So much for the article I read last week which said he had a €9m release clause in his contract.
  2. Jimmy Carr's reported tax avoidance (which was legal by the laws of this land) doesn't add up to anything compared to Rangers' illegal tax evasion. The people who were in charge of Rangers have robbed the British tax payer of a potential £70m+. Scottish Premiership teams worrying about loss of earnings due to Rangers being gone will just have to cut their cloth accordingly. Sell some players to make up the shortfall.
  3. Don't forget that if we sold Ba for £7m, according to reports, NUFC would only see around £3m of that with the rest going to Ba.
  4. I think he's miffed about being replaced as 'the guy,' despite saying otherwise. Was still a vital part of the attack during the second half, doubt Papiss would've been nearly as successful without Ba next to him. If that turns out to be his reasoning I won't mind if he leaves. Cisse and Ba alternated between being the guy through the middle. Often, after Cisse scored Ba played the rest of the game through the middle with Cisse moving to the left. Ba had plenty of opportunities playing in his favoured position. It annoyed me in the last third of the season that team mates were so desperate for Ba to score that they started passing to him when others were better placed. Thanks for the performance last season (especially the goals in the first half of the season) but if Ba is looking to leave then he can leave.
  5. Ba got plenty of 'love' from the fans, especially considering the fact he went through a second half of the season goal drought. If he leaves it's got nothing to do with not getting enough 'love' from the fans.
  6. I thought Spain might have passed the penalty back to the centre circle like they do with their corners.

  8. Pardew inset too keen on him IMO as well. Not if rumours that he was willing to sell him to Celtic last January are true. Pardew said they had offers for players but they wanted to stay. We'd have been down to Shola as the only striker if we'd sold Best last January!
  9. We know Ashley would rather cash in on Best for £3m now and worry about securing a replacement later. He won't risk losing him for nothing at the end of this coming season. I certainly can't see Best getting offered a new contract at NUFC. Best himself may not even want a contract extension being that he's way down the pecking order.
  10. I'd agree. I'd have Best ahead of Shola to start a game. For me Shola is now a super sub. Getting £3m for Best would be good but we'd have to replace him with someone who's an improvement. Lovenkrands is gone, NUFC are looking to sell Best and Ranger (and Xisco but he hardly counts). We'll be low on strikers unless we get replacements (e.g. de Jong). If we play 4-3-3 it could be argued that we could play with one out and out striker.

  12. Vicente del Bosque Khaaaannnnnnnn!
  13. A £12m price tag would bring a lot of pressure for a 21 year old. We'd expect him to hit the ground running. If NUFC were willing to pay £12m for de Jong you'd have to think that Carr thought de Jong was an amazing player.
  14. I think Forster would be crazy to sign for Celtic. He's already won the title in Scotland. Now the league is a one horse race why bother staying? QPR had been linked with him but they have now signed Robert Green. As long as Forster was the number 1 choice, Southampton in the Premiership would be a much better option for his long term career.

Because SJP isn't suitable for gigs; their place is unfortunately the only venue suitable for big shows in the North East. Any reason why SJP isn't suitable for gigs anymore? "The stadium has hosted concerts for many famous artists, including The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Queen, Bob Dylan, Bryan Adams and Rod Stewart." That Rod Stewart gig was within the last few years. What's changed to make it unsuitable?
  16. As was Pards. I'm sure I read within the last week that Mandzukic has a €9m purchase price clause in his contract. I highly doubt we'd be interested in him unless we'd been tracking him for years. I don't see NUFC buying policy being swayed by a few decent performances at the Euros.
  17. It was funny how every time 'Robot Wars' man said a challenge was a terrible foul Keown replied that it wasn't.
  18. Best is entering the last year of his contract with NUFC. I can understand selling him while we can still get a fee for him. I doubt we'd offer him a new contract. I hope we have an upgrade lined up (De Jong?) if we are selling him.
  19. Sounds like bullshit if the lauged of our £4m bid. It is strange , but most journo's seem to think think a bid of around £6m will be enough..... the extra 2m making all the difference from a joke to a serious offer lol. Well £6m is a 50% increase over £4m. A 50% increase could easily change a bid from being a 'joke' to being acceptable.
  20. How attractive would Inter be? They finished 6th so they are in the Europa League. Serie A is undergoing another corruption investigation. Big name club but not at there best at the moment. As has been said by others before, a €5m cash now offer from NUFC would be seen by many clubs as a better offer than €6m to €7m in instalments over the course of a 4 to 5 year contract. That's how other clubs often structure their transfers offers.
  21. Balotelli's goal celebration face is the same face I pull when I realise I've stood in dog shit. Cheer up man you miserable bastard.
  22. He'll get bollocked off the BBC for advertising.
  23. I'm hoping we get both of the Everton fixtures during their usual 'slow' start to the season phase. Hopefully we'll also have played both Wigan fixtures before their usual 'avoid relegation' mega run occurs near the end of the season.
  24. Too old and a Cameroon international. That would make him another player potentially missing for a month or two every other season if Cameroon qualify for the African Cup of Nations. NUFC supposedly have multiple targets for each position we want to fill. For example, Mathieu Debuchy is supposed to be our target for right back. If we don't get him we may move on to Nathaniel Clyne. Most rumours are bullshit but some may be for example, our 4th choice for a position which never happens because we get our 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice.
  25. Zlatan gave Hart a right mouthful of aggressive expletives after Sweden's second goal. I hope Hart tracked Zlatan down at the end of the game to laugh at him.
