  2. From watching Dietmar Hamann and Robbie Savage discuss their own transfers (see below), if Debuchy really wants to come to NUFC he could probably force his move through. He could hand in a written transfer request for a start. Modric got the move he wanted (admittedly Spurs held on to him a season longer than Modric wanted). I'll be surprised if Dempsey is still at Fulham when the window closes. Video: - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19378900 Hamann talks about his transfer from NUFC to Liverpool.
  3. It is pertinent but I didn't know which Transfer thread to put it in. Some people seem to think transfers are done as per Football Manager/FIFA. Offer £6M for Debuchy. Lille say no so come back with an £8m offer which is 'only' 33.333% more than our original offer!

  5. More like when you want infamy and a visit from the Police.
  6. I'd play Cisse and Cabaye from the start as both look like they need to get some match 'sharpness'. Amalfitano looked good when he came on last week so I'd like to see more of him. I'm happy with Harper, Perch, Williamson and R.Taylor. If Ferguson is fit play him at left back and R.Taylor at right back. Marveaux should play again. If Tiote is still going to be injured for the Aston Villa game I'd rest Anita for this game. If Shola is fit start him and have Campbell on the bench.
  7. That would be Forster, the man who didn't want to stay unless he was first choice. who is also now playing in a pub league against utter s**** That was his choice. I think he was mad to go to Celtic but was any other club really interested?

  9. Hopefully we do the business offensively with the first 11 as there aren't many goals on the subs bench.
  10. I thought I'd read that the Transfer Window closed on the 3rd of September but it looks like it definitely closes at 11pm on Friday, August 31st according to: - http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/features/european-transfer-deadline-dates-in-full.html

He wasn't given a proper chance? Deportivo de La Coruña (who were in the Segunda División at the time) had him on loan last season and they barely played him. Based on that, it's just as well NUFC didn't give him a chance.
  12. I'd forgotten the referees in Europe always give fouls for stuff that would never be classed as a foul by an English ref. 1-1 means the tie isn't dead so NUFC will be hoping for a decent crowd next Thursday. Apart from that bollock drop at the end Bigi had a good game. Amalfitano looked good. Obertan had a decent second half after a poor first half. Gosling and Marveaux were very disappointing.
  13. The crowd were generally supportive of him. He lost the ball and the crowd moaned but no more than they did then when Tiote, Gutierrez, Ba and Cabaye did the same. When he did good things he got a good cheer. Like others have said, he was probably told to keep the ball so on the occasion when he made a run into Spurs territory he didn't cross it as we only had one player in the area. Perch has passed the scapegoat baton on to Obertan and Simpson.

  15. NUFC probably see him as a corruptive influence. They probably don't want to be seen to be rewarding him with game time ahead of players who have a professional attitude. Hopefully NUFC will get rid of him this transfer window. Even a loan would be better than having him hanging around the training ground.
  16. I'd be surprised if any of the starting 11 from the Spurs game play the Atromitos game. Perch is the most likely but that depends on if Coloccini is going to be fit for the Chelsea game. I think the squad will be picked from: - Williamson, Ryan Taylor, Ferguson, Gosling, Amalfitano, Marveaux, Shola Ameobi (if fit), Obertan, Vučkić, Abeid, Campbell, Krul, Harper, Perch, Bigirimana, Sammy Ameobi (if fit), Good, Anita and Tavernier. If Shola isn't fit we may end up playing with no out and out striker. We ended the Hartlepool friendly with no striker on the pitch.
  17. Good and not so good from Simpson yesterday. His cross lead to Ba's goal. He can be partially blamed for Spurs' goal by not stopping the cross. Be fair to him though, as Pardew said last season, Simpson has Ben Arfa in front of him. Compare that to Santon having Gutierrez in front of him. Ben Arfa roams about on occasion. If I was a defender I'd feel more secure with Gutierrez in front of me compared to Ben Arfa. Spurs targeted Simpson as they knew he had less protection than Santon.

  19. Debuchy's told the Lille chairman and manager that he wants to leave. Has he handed in an official transfer request? It's not one of those crazy situations where he'd be expecting a loyalty bonus from Lille because he hasn't handed in a transfer request (even though he's said he wants to leave) is it?
  20. The same guy told me he'd had an email last week from NUFC telling him the schedule for dispatching season tickets. I didn't get that email and I haven't had a dispatch email either. Fingers crossed it turns up on Monday or Tuesday. I don't want to have to collect it from the box office.
  21. Someone told me the Season Tickets get sent out in batches based on postcode. That way they are pre-sorted when they are given to the Post Office so the Post Office don't charge for sorting. I don't know anyone who's received their ticket yet. I don't know why they cut it so fine. Sending them out last week would have made more sense.
  22. I have no problem with Mike Ashley (or is it Sports Direct?) buying 10% of Rangers. I'm sure it will turn out to be a good investment for him. Rangers will eventually get back to the SPL and his 10% stake will be worth a lot more than he paid for it. I think it's just journalists assuming Mike Ashley buying into Rangers = NUFC loaning players to Rangers.
  23. I really don't understand why NUFC would lend any players to Rangers. When commenting on Forster's loan to Celtic, Alan Pardew said he didn't rate the SPL as a high enough standard. Why would we send any of our development players to Scotland's 3rd division? Is it Mike Ashley or Sports Direct who are buying the 10% of shares in Rangers? Mike Ashley owns about 70% of Sports Direct. He owns 100% of NUFC. Is the idea behind this story that Ashley will send NUFC development players to Rangers to help them get promoted so 10% investment will be worth more? Is this idea based on any fact or are the BBC just thinking because Ashley owns NUFC he's bound to send our players to help Rangers?
  24. It would seem Elliot is now the number 3 goalkeeper behind Harper.
