We've bid for Debuchy. There's no proof Inter are interested. They haven't made a bid. I'm sure if they had Lille would have shouted about it from the roof tops. As for "embarrassing" offers, 8 million Euros is 33.33% more than our last reported bid of 6 million Euros. 33.33% would be a hell of an increase in our offer. Right Backs don't tend to go for big money. Patience is the name of the game with this transfer.

To be fair to Obertan, he's had two shots which were both blocked. No other player has had a shot yet.
-
Obertan's been our most dangerous player!

One of the best things about being a season ticket holder. Not having to listen to pundits, 'experts' and commentators.

NUFC have an amount they think Debuchy is worth. If Lille want more than that amount they won't get it. I don't want NUFC to cave in and pay exactly what Lille want. I want NUFC to pay as little as possible for the players we buy. It's not like there is a bidding war going on for Debuchy. If Inter Milan want Debuchy how come they haven't agreed a fee with Lille yet? Debuchy supposedly wants to come to us. If it happens, the transfer may take until the last day of the transfer window. We have plenty of cover for the Right Back position (Simpson, R.Taylor, Perch & Tav). They may not be as good as Debuchy but if we don't sign Debuchy we'll still be OK. Debuchy is a very 'nice to have' but he's not a necessity.

Well if it wasn't clear before it certainly is now. Rodgers/Liverpool don't want Carroll. Carroll has the position of power now. If he only wants to come back to NUFC he can just refuse to go to West Ham. Liverpool will either be stuck with an unhappy player on huge wages or they'll be forced in to selling him to NUFC on the cheap. I bet West Ham are happy to pay his £75K+ a week wages. NUFC won't pay that so if Carroll does go to West Ham it will be a sign he didn't want to drop his wage demands. -

Pardew has said that the Premier League will be our priority next season. He has also said there will be much more squad rotation to cope with the extra games and the younger players will have to step up. What do you think of us not going all out to win a cup? We're very unlikely to win the Premier League but the big money is all about where you finish in the league. The cups don't have the same prestige any more. I'd love us to win a cup but I can understand prioritising the Premiership. Maybe when we are more established we can concentrate on a cup. Hopefully our Cup team is good enough to get far in the Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup. We'll no doubt start our best players in the Premier League. Obviously there will be some crossover but, depending on who we draw, fixture pile up and based on the squad we currently have, who would you see us having in the Cup team squad? Will Elliot or Harper be the keeper or will Krul continue to play every game? In defence I can see Williamson, Perch, R.Taylor, Ferguson and Tavernier competing to be in the back four. In midfield there will be Abeid, Ferguson, Gosling, possibly Marveaux, R.Taylor, Obertan, Sammy Ameobi, Vučkić, Amalfitano and Bigirimana to choose from. In attack there'll be Shola Ameobi, Sammy Ameobi and possibly Obertan to choose from.

America has the World Series for Baseball which I believe (although I may be wrong) only contains teams from the USA and one from Canada. Yes.

UEFA don't allow clubs to switch into foreign leagues (Swansea and Cardiff are historical examples which UEFA would not allow if they were only trying to join today). The policing costs would be huge every time a Scottish team played an English team. The travel distances involved. Why would the English leagues want to let the Scottish teams in? The English Premiership for example, is massively successful. What have Celtic, Rangers, etc done to deserve a piece of that?

When I bought him on 'FIFA 12' (in 'Manager' mode while managing NUFC) he was shit. I'll take that as a good omen. Anyway, we supposedly have 4 or 5 targets scouted for every position we want to fill. I wonder who's next on the list?

Guthrie certainly wasn't shit last season. When he was called on to replace Tiote or Cabaye in the team last season he did a great job. He was unlucky to get dropped when Tiote/Cabaye returned (another reason why he is leaving no doubt). As a third choice CM he was fine. I guess Gosling is taking that role now. Gosling hasn't impressed me yet.

True. What is that ridiculous condition regarding players at the end of their contract? That the club they are leaving has to pay a months salary after the end of their contract unless they sign with a new club? I can't see Smith signing with the MK Dons (or whoever) until the 1st of August.

Anyone know why Buffon had blue tape on his neck against England? I've noticed a few players with tape on them. I think Balotelli had three strips of black tape on his back. Is it to hide certain tattoos (one of the Italian players had one long and one short sleeve under his football shirt. The only reason I can think for that is to hide tattoos) or to help with injuries?
