I'd love a job where failure was actually rewarded. Football Manager, Football Player and Board member of multinational corporation is the only jobs I know that do this.
-
Well he has been through it before (surely that's a sign).
-
I wonder if Martins has had his operation yet.
-
I think the fact that Taylor wasn't even a regular for Wigan sort of sign posted that he was shit. We got the reverse effect from Man U fans. We were told Nicky Butt and Alan Smith were good and they weren't. We got told by Coventry fans that Bellamy was shit and he wasn't.

If you want to read how other club fans view Owen read the comments after this article: - http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2009/06/is_owen_still_worth_a_gamble.html It's amazing how people who have barely watched Owen for the last few seasons seem to think they know more about him than Newcastle fans.

Try this: http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/6359/laurentrobert.jpg Nope, that didn't do it. I'll go and have a look at the "lush lasses" or "MILF" thread. To clarify my original post: - I'm struggling to get excited (not in a sexual way).

What bar? I saw him downtown at BBQ Bar last week. BBQ Bar actually. Hah! You speak to him? He had a lot to say actually... Naw, he brushed me off pretty much after I told him I was a huge Newcastle fan. I walked up to him and pointed at him and said "Alan Smith" and he nodded and then I forced a chat out of him for a good 10 mins or so. So what did he say?

I keep getting sent emails from Newcastle trying to get me excited about the fixtures coming out. 1. The owner is selling the club and is letting the club rot until he does. 2. We have no manager. 3. We have no plans. 4. We are in the Championship. I'm struggling to get excited.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnulty/2009/06/is_owen_still_worth_a_gamble.html Read the comments from fools about how he'll knock in 20+ in the Premiership next season (that would be a first) and how it was Newcastle's fault he didn't score goals. I hope he goes to the club of people who think that way.

So he picks up the Real Madrid coach and drives him to Madrid? I was joking. Rutger Hauer plays the bad guy in an 80's horror/thriller film called 'The Hitcher' about a man who gives a lift to a hitch-hiker who turns out to be a serial killer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hitcher Great film. It only took 2 years and 4 months for someone to appreciate that joke. Goal 3, he's watching a world cup match and tells someone to fuck off. Ever the recluse that Mike Ashley.
-
Last season when Llambias was asked if the club had a contingency plan if we got relegated he said yes. Little did we realise at the time that that plan was to sell the club. I do however think that even if we hadn't been relegated Mike Ashley would have tried to sell the club.

The best thing about that article is that it contains no direct quotes. I'm hanging on to that in the hope that Fat Sam comes in with a bid to 'rescue' Alan Smith.
-
"Sunderland, famous for Newcastle" funny because it's true. I can think of another word beginning with 'C' that it should be replaced with.
-
I'd be happy for Martins to stay. Anyway, I'd rather the new manager/owner decided who stayed and who went rather than Mike Ashley sell players and then mysteriously disappear the transfer fee we receive for them.
-
I hate so called die hard mackems who hate all things Newcastle and Geordie but choose to live and work in Newcastle. They hate us, but not enough to live in the shite hole that is Sunderland.

Bassong: 'I want to leave for my career and my future'
LoveItIfWeBeatU replied to Dave's topic in Football
I want him to stay but can't blame him for wanting to leave. Who would choose to play in the Championship with a club that is (currently) a total basket case if a top 4 club with a well respected manager wanted you (Assuming the Arsenal interest is true)? -
Well at least they haven't issued a denial yet which is what usually happens.
-
A bit worrying that they can't even post pictures of their executives on their own website without a lot of them looking squashed. Personally I would want Chandra Muniandy involved in some capacity Who wouldn't? On reflection I've decide I now love their 'Hall of Mirrors' approach to their executive's photographs.

Spider-Man? More like Forrest Gump. He can run and run but never did anything at the end of his run. Another player that some people will say was too good for us and will go on to prove himself elsewhere (just like Kluivert and Viana didn't). Just to quantify, me saying this about Jonas doesn't mean I think any of our other midfielders are any good either. Hope we at least get back what we paid for him.

At this moment in time I don't know how anyone could be optimistic (no manager and an owner who wants to sell).
-
We must finish in the top two. I wouldn't fancy our chances in a play off. The team that finishes 3rd rarely wins promotion.
