  1. Didn't know there was a third statue of him. http://portugalresident.com/sir-robby-robson-statue-unveiled
  2. He's ended up being our 3rd highest goal scorer behind Gayle and Ritchie. Even though he's under performed compared to how most thought he'd do in the Championship, he has still managed to score some good goals. That fact that he can hit the target means he's worth persevering with next season.
  3. At last: - http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/championship/10867549/newcastle-champioship-winners-201617
  4. https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/haway-brighton-albion.1360004/ The thread takes a lovely turn when Aston Villa score.

  6. Those scarfs may become collectors items, like when the Royal Mint put out coins with mistakes on them.
  7. Typical Sunderland. They're doomed so they turn up for once to dent another teams chances of staying up. They'll probably be pleased to drag Hull down with them. I wonder how much of the performance was due to their players putting in the effort to impress suitors from other clubs. Now Sunderland are relegated it's time for the players to execute their escape plan.
  8. What the hell happened to Wilfried Bony? He doesn't even get in the Stoke team.
  9. I'm not saying they would but, unless it's an official, registered charity that the donations go to, there's nothing to stop Bradley's parents using the money on anything they like. When there was a campaign to send Xmas cards to Bradley to get him a Guinness world record, his mother was interviewed on TV and she said "It's all about Bradley leaving a legacy". She was sitting with him when she said this. It's a terrible situation and people handle things in different ways but his parents must be happy with all the publicity. As for Everton giving him £200k, there must be loads of similarly unfortunate sick children in the Everton area. It's strange to me they paid that money.
  10. PSG is his favourite club though, fully understand him taking a chance. I understand his decision to go to PSG. Players have confidence in their own abilities. He'll have thought he'd be in the 1st team. With the benefit of hindsight, it hasn't worked out at PSG. He had a good thing going for him at Nice. How long is his contract? Would PSG want a big fee for him? Would his wages price him out of a move without a significant pay cut?
  11. He should have stayed at Nice and been a big fish in a small(er) pond rather than be a small fish in a big pond at PSG. The grass isn't always greener.
  12. But who would score the goals? Gayle and Ritchie have scored most of our goals. Removing our top goal scorer and replacing him with Mitrovic because, according to you, he creates chances for others is some flawed logic. If he's going to create chances for newly acquired, goal scoring players why not just replace him in the team with some who scores goals as a striker? http://www.nufc.com/2016-17html/goalscorers.html People wanting a non-goal scoring striker in the team amazes me. We've had the likes of Shearer, Ferdinand, Cole, etc. over the years. We've now got people saying they'd play a non-goal scoring striker as he may provide chances for other players. What has happened to some people's standards for a striker?
  13. I don't agree that a "big man" isn't suited to Rafa's system. The fact is, if Mitro could convert his chances he'd have scored plenty of goals in this formation.

  15. Bizarre to me that who gets relegated is seen as more important than who wins the league. In what other league would that apply?
  16. If true it shows how undermined winning the Championship is. Which team will win the league is less interesting to a TV company than which teams will stay in the league? http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-transfer-gossip-benitez-12964986
  17. Ritchie is our only right winger (I'm not counting Atsu as he is on loan) and Aarons (who was injured all season) is our only left winger. We must get cover otherwise we'll end up having to play players out of position. Gayle and Ritchie are our only regular goal scorers. We need to bring in more goal scorers. Gouffran is our 4th highest scorer with 5 league goals. http://www.nufc.com/2016-17html/goalscorers.html
  18. If it was an Ameobi performing as Mitro has over the last 2 seasons he'd have been shot with shit by most of Mitro's defenders.
  19. Tim Krul, Siem De Jong, Henri Saivet, Emmanuel Riviere, Adam Armstrong, Freddie Woodman and Kevin Mbabu coming back from loan. There will be a lot of decisions to make. This article shows the likes of Burnley and Watford only spent around £20m after they were promoted: - http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-transfers-budget-premier-league-12964044 I'd hope we have a much bigger budget than that.
  20. Sky want the maximum viewing figures and we are the biggest draw by far in the Championship. I'd imagine that could sway their decision on who to pick for TV.
