  1. I like what Rafa is doing with NUFC as far as professionalism and away form go. Having said that, the style of play isn't entertaining to watch and the home form is poor. Before the season started I was considering getting a season ticket. I'm glad I didn't. The team haven't played entertaining football and we've lost to a lot of teams we shouldn't have. Play attacking football at home and the crowd will get onside. I wonder if 'lesser' rated managers couldn't have done better at home with the same squad.

  3. As people were discussing the squad in the Rafa thread I thought I'd resurrect this thread. Contract information taken from: - http://www.nufc.com/2016-17html/squad.html Out of contract in June 2017 Vurnon Anita Yoan Gouffran Christian Atsu (end of loan from Chelsea) Sammy Ameobi Out of contract in June 2018 (i.e. one year left on contract so Mike Ashley may be looking to cash in) Massadio Haidara Jesus Gamez Daryl Murphy Curtis Good Tim Krul Kevin Mbabu NUFC.com have "tbc" for the contract length of some players e.g. Emmanuel Riviere. Some players like Haris Vučkić aren't listed.
  4. The only reason anyone is even contemplating getting 36 year old Carrick is that he's a Geordie. I'd rather we spent the money on a player with his best days ahead of him. Carrick himself has said he'll retire if he doesn't get a new contract at Man U and he can't see himself playing for another English club. That hardly screams "I'm a Geordie and I love the Toon, come and sign me up NUFC". As others have said, how many players have left Man U then been poor when they're not surrounded by players of the quality Man U can have?
  5. Listening to that miserable bastard, millionaire Danny Murphy, money mustn't bring happiness. Huddersfield's second team seem better than our second team.
  6. Love the criticism of Huddersfield by Danny Murphy. As if it's a fair contest on paper. What a dick. PS Save some goals for Sunderland please Man City.
  7. Hopefully Huddersfield will keep handling the ball against us on Saturday. Having said that, the ref probably wouldn't give us a penalty either.
  8. I was equally annoyed at this. Sky have done that every game for decades. They're obsessed with people in the crowd, managers and never showing throws.
  9. Lack of confidence.fear of missing sitters..stone on his shoulders becouse he think that he is guilty for droping NUFC to championship. When he was in good form,he was on the bench. Now when he play..not badly..but without goals..he play with fear..That is what i see whan i see his playing last few games.Where are his yelow cards after 5 mins?Or jumping as a bear?He try to give more for team, dont push himself at first spot But..you love diferent kind of players and dont have time to wait for him to explode He will go..for sure.Best for all But if he take a part in some premiership club and start scoring..than what? I'd be amazed if a Premiership club bought him. Even if you accepted that his awful finishing was a blip (I don't think it is as he's been like that for 2 seasons now) he has no pace and his movement is poor. Premiership clubs don't usually play with two strikers these days, especially when one is slow and immobile. If he leaves and does well somewhere else good for him. Doesn't mean he'll ever do well here.
  10. The system is the problem? Does the system stop Mitro from being able to kick or head the ball on target?
  11. But at least he moves which was my point. I'm not saying he's Gary Lineker like. Moves where exactly? Certainly not into the box when crosses come in. At least Murphy has the excuse of being in his 30's, whereas the fitness and application for a bloke of Mitrovic's age are nothing short of a disgrace. He clearly doesn't have an eye for a chance but in general play he's tons more mobile than Murphy. Contributes way more also. You're basing your assessment of Murphy on one game. Mitrović has had loads of bad games. We're sick of Mitrović getting chance after chance and not performing. Gouffran and Murphy should both be ahead of Mitrović for the striker role when Gayle is out.
  12. His main failing yesterday was not getting in the box to attempt to convert presentable chances from crosses.
  13. We are better away from home against good teams than we are at home against teams near the bottom of the league.
  14. He's not even good at the things his defenders say he's good at. More often than not he doesn't win headers and he doesn't hold the ball up well either.
  15. From the quotes from Rafa the other day it sounds like physically Gayle is OK but mentally he isn't 100% confident he's over the injury.
  16. By the definition of the role he's a shit striker. What's the point in winning balls for others in our team when we're not exactly overstocked with players who can take chances? Give Murphy or Gouffran a game up front. I'd have much more confidence in them taking chances.
  17. Needs another season in the Championship to get into form.
  18. I think Bristol will hammer us (Combo Breaker for the above hex).
  19. If Leicester suddenly start performing to a decent standard and pull away from the relegation places it will prove it was the correct decision to sack Ranieri. I don't feel sorry for Ranieri. He'll always be remembered for winning the league with Leicester. He'll also get a massive pay off to go with all the other millions he's made over the years. For whatever reason it hasn't worked out this season.
  20. What Nandos alternatives do you recommend? Footballers and other famous people just name drop Nandos on Twitter to get a load of free food.
  21. Mitro has made a difference but what some people are claiming as an "assist" was one of his shots.
