I don't see how anyone can blame McClaren for our players spurning chances. We had 19 shots. You'd expect your players to convert at least a couple of chances.

He would have got an assist if Wijnaldum had scored that header rather than putting it over. Sissoko would also have quite a few assists this season if his decent deliveries weren't wasted most of the time. Harsh to judge our players on assists when our other players waste glorious chances.

Staying in the Premier league is more important to most clubs than playing football worth watching. It's why managers whose teams play awful football but don't get relegated keep getting jobs.
