  1. Much improved performance. Why our players constantly delay to waste shooting chances I don't know.
  2. You got all that from a photo of them standing next to each other? Anyway, Colo has another year of his contract to go after it was extended. I doubt he'll hang up his boots at the end of this season. I thought he had signed a 1 year extension? Utter stupidity if he's got 2 years left, he's already useless. His contract was due to end Summer 2016. It was extended to Summer 2017.
  3. We 'only' have to better the results of Sunderland and Norwich. It's not like they're doing well either. Fingers crossed we experience the 'new manager bounce' effect. Surely our team can only improve on how they've performed this season. Have Sunderland and Norwich got the spare capacity to improve as much as we have? If this was a parallel universe and instead of fighting relegation Newcastle, Sunderland and Norwich were all going for the title, would we be as pessimistic? 1 point behind, 1 (Sunderland) 2 (Norwich) game/s in hand, 10 games left and hopefully a new manage bounce.

  5. The only prediction I'll make is the players will give it a damn good go (which in itself will be a huge improvement over most of their away performances this season). Hopefully it will be enough for us to pick up a point or 3.
  6. The West Ham fans should ram the "be careful what you wish for" down the throats of all those idiots who said it when they wanted Big Fat Sam out. I'm glad NUFC have appointed Benitez rather than appoint the utter mediocrity of a Pearson, Moyes or similar type manager. At least Benitez is good on paper. We can't say that about many of our previous managers.
  7. You've not encountered those ones? http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Atheist_professor_myth No I'd managed to avoid them. I used that meme due to this: - http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/are-you-serious-face-seriously The original male version of the face was based off a scene where David Silverman of American Atheists makes a perplexed expression during a debate with Bill O’Reilly on Fox News. During the exchange O’Reilly uses the “tide goes in, tide goes out” argument for the existence of God.
  8. All those pundits, ex-players and fans of other clubs who say we would be better off with Pearson and the like. How come Real Madrid, Chelsea, Napoli, etc. employed Benitez and not Big Sam, Pearson or someone of their ilk?
  9. We are 1 point behind both Norwich and Sunderland. They both have a better goal difference than us. We have 1 game in hand on Sunderland and 2 games in hand on Norwich. We've got to play both Norwich and Sunderland. It's certainly very doable to finish above both of them if our players give their all.
  10. I respect him for having the belief in his own abilities that he thinks he can do something at NUFC. He's not walking into a club with a ready made top 4 squad which seem to be the only jobs other top quality managers will consider. He's got a real challenge here but he can also make a real difference.
  11. I wonder if any of our injured players have suddenly recovered?
  12. They're bound to be worried. NUFC keeping McClaren is what they (and Norwich fans) wanted. We were almost certainly going to be relegated under McClaren. Appointing a new manager might give us a 'new manager bounce' (which Sunderland fans know all about). The fact that NUFC have appointed a manager with a decent record will be extra concerning for them. We can't be any worse anyway.

  14. I'm sure Steve Black will manage to see the positive side of this.
  15. To be fair to McClaren everyone says he's a brilliant coach. Maybe he should stick to that and let someone else manage. It's not like he needs the money.
  16. It took 10 or 11. By game 8 some were calling for him to step down. And then the Birmingham 1-1 happened and things clicked from there. That's why I'm not getting too excited. It will be good if Rafa takes over but it's no guarantee we'll suddenly become half decent.
  17. Didn't it take Keegan something like 5 games to get a win after he came back? I'm hoping we get the new manager bounce for once. It would be typical for NUFC to get a decent manager (a long time since the last one) and then lose him due to relegation. Even worse if we go down at the expense of Sunderland and the points their pedophile earned them.
  18. She leaves her job (no doubt with a hefty pay off for taking the bullet for the club), Sunderland kept their Premiership status last season with help from Johnson, Sunderland won derbies with help from Johnson and Johnson helped them gain points this season. Everyone's a winner. Justice has been done. Nothing to see here.
  19. The full report is up now. http://www.nufc.com/2015-16html/2016-03-05bournemouth-h.html
  20. Justice? He pleaded guilty to 2 charges which would make most people want nothing to do with him.
  21. I thought I'd create this thread as sometimes there is NUFC related stuff to post which doesn't warrant it's own thread (and the 'Not Worthy Of A Thread' is usually non-NUFC related posts). I saw this yesterday: - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35744820 Like most internet 'Comments' sections, if you want to read the ill informed opinions of idiots then read the 'View Comments' section but I wouldn't recommend it.
  22. How ironic the decision is with them when they should all be going to.
  23. Did he give an actual reason for sticking with McClaren or was it just the usual old boys network in action? The media were quick to get Moyes forced out of Man U but are happy for us to do nothing.
