  1. He's more confident than most of us.
  2. Mitrović doesn't get into the box in time for crosses. Sissoko and Townsend put good crosses in which only Wijnaldum got anywhere near.
  3. Wouldn't have gone in if he wasn't there, tbf. Yup Don't agree. The replay viewed from behind the goal showed a wicked swerve on the flight of the ball. I'm pretty certain it didn't touch Mitrović.
  4. Still trying to impress before the Chinese transfer window closes? Good game today to go with his other recent good performances.
  5. The fact that we just managed to win that game doesn't fill me with great optimism. West Brom had 0 shots on target and 7 off target. We had 7 on target and 19 shots overall. We make it so difficult for ourselves with our atrocious finishing. That game should have been won and safe in the first half. I'm no fan of McClaren but you can't blame him for our player's finishing.
  6. Just seen on the replay after Miro scored some guy in the crowd does the at him.
  7. Of the 3 very similar goals Tiote has scored for Newcastle 2 have been chalked off through no fault of his own for identical circumstances.
  8. It's more the fact NUFC have bet the farm on him scoring goals to keep us in the Premiership. That's not his fault but it's the situation we are in. He may come good given time but we don't have time. I can't believe some of the chances he's missed. You'd expect him to have put some of them away. All our strikers are poor at putting the ball in the back of the net. A recipe for relegation. We don't really have many alternatives so we keep playing Mitrović. Just don't expect people to accept his misses with ease when the Premiership status hangs in the balance.
  9. If you read the article it say we fall between two stools away. Not all out defence but barely any attacking either. As for replacing McClaren, why not? We might as well twist rather than stick. We may actually get a new manager bounce for once.
  10. Decent article analysing our away form. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-uniteds-away-form-abysmal-10838902 As we are so shit away from home, why doesn't McClaren set the team up to grind out a draw? It may not be ambitious but we may actually pick up the occasional point.
  11. It would have been cheaper and more effective in the short term if NUFC had just bought Peter Crouch instead. There's being low on confidence and then there's the misses he keeps doing. By the laws of average you'd think he'd have put at least one of his misses away. Some have been harder to miss than score. We don't create many chances but he has spurned quite a number of them. Maybe he'll come good in the Championship as that's where we're heading and I can't see any other club wanting to buy a hold up man.
  12. I see the BBC are waxing lyrical about Ross Barkley and Everton's performance. They were mediocre at best and probably would have lost to an average team putting in an OK performance. We were fucking shit. That's the difference. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/35262702
  13. Georginio Wijnaldum likes riffing off classic literature. Robert Louis Stevenson's "Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde" and H. G. Wells' "The Invisible Man" appear to be his favourites. I'd only play him in home games.
  14. How come all our players (apart from Elliot) all decide to have a shite game on the same day?
  15. I'd consider dropping Wijnaldum away from home. He's invisible (prove me wrong and score a goal or two please).
  16. No point worrying about how far the gap is to 16th place. Getting in to 17th place (or better) is all that matters.
  17. I'll wait to see him play before deciding whether to write him off or not.
