Be nice for us to get a couple in early for a change. Appreciate it’s hard to get every signing in early doors, particularly in a World Cup summer, but it’d be great to get a full pre season or thereabouts for most of the lads. Be interesting to see if we look at any free signings this summer.

Was positive at the Bournemouth game until they nearly scored (another) easy goal against us to make it 0-2. SJP can be a horrid place to play and I think we will see that tomorrow. Murphy won’t start. Every player has to fight for their place and when you play you have to do enough to stay in the 11.

The other player mentioned, Pope also made errors that led to goals multiple times before he was finally dropped. Got to be honest my faith in Howe has completely gone. I have seen nothing at all from him and heard nothing at all to suggest he’s the man to turn it around. The comments the other week about not doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome, when that has been the story of our season. Doesn’t take Mystic Meg or GregGShore to tell you how we’ll lineup tomorrow.

Fairly sure they had a bit of a poorer season the season before they went down. I’m not sure where I read this, and it’s possibly not even true, but Howe supposedly was going to step down the summer prior to the going down but they talked him into staying.

My favourite season watching us. Proper buzz around every home game, if the season never halted for the World Cup we’d have finished even higher imo.

Aye that first half was class, second was closer. Was nervous after they pulled one back. I was in the Directors Box for the first and only time with work. Atmosphere was fucking class.

Fair point, they have hired highly regarded people. One of my concerns is that they seemingly don’t empower people enough. Would be interested to know how much say Hopkinson has over big projects and whether or not he had to run everything by people in Saudi. This is one of the worries I have should we elect to change manager in the summer. How quick would a replacement come?

Probably the easiest season ever to get into Europe and we’re seemingly incapable of even drawing a game let alone win. Depressing.
