I left the ground angrier after the derby than I have probably since the Pardew days. It’s a huge game, maybe not in the context of final positions in the league, but it’s still massive. It wasn’t even just that we lost, but the manner of it. Both of them were a disgrace. Redemption time next season.

Honestly, no idea what to expect. Feels like we are in uncharted territory somewhat given that the club have made noises about changing our approach re recruitment. Clearly they will be using data more with that Sugs mush coming in. I would like to think we will see evolution in our style. Not sure I can be arsed with more of the same next season, where teams give us the ball knowing we can do fuck all with it. Be interesting to see how it all pans out, but as I said the other day I’m unsure if Howe will get away with another slow start next season.

When you consider that we’ll possibly lose Livramento, Gordon and Tonali - there’s 3 big signings needed there. Then there’s the areas we need to address - right wing, striker, central midfielder, back up LB/RB, probably another centre half as well if Schar goes. Edit: and the keepers as you mention.

Don’t agree with it but it’s good to get some clarity. Hopefully brings some unity amongst the fanbase and we can win our last 3. Hopefully Howe is as up for a rebuild as he says he is, and willing to let go of players who have served us well but need to be upgraded upon. I do worry that a bad start, which has been a common theme since the takeover, and things could turn nasty for him though.

I’ve said for ages that it annoys me when people say “aye but he’s a good shot stopper” in response to concerns about his kicking. However, yesterday we saw the best of him (kicking aside), he made some good saves and commanded his area well also.

Been to Villa recently where we had to get a taxi somewhere to be allowed in for a peeve as nowhere near the ground let us in. At Man U we had to drink in a fucking Travelodge bar. Brighton is a shite away day. 20 minute train to get to the stadium from the centre and there’s fuck all there. Poor souls having to stand high up.
