Mr. Pedantic saves the day! Okay, I can't count. 1 month.

I dont get this post? Would you prefer Arsenal beat them? eh...yes. Considering our position right now I'd rather have seen Arsenal beat them as it would have given us a better chance to reaching Europe which by the way we are playing isn't impossible but knowing that it's Newcastle its actually a tad ridiculous to hope European football. f*** that. Birmingham winning was a good day for football. Everyone always bleats on about how only the big clubs win trophies and the fact the media would have jizzed all over if they had of won. Also, having to hear the f***ing cockneys moan on about not winng a trophy for 6 whole years - f***, my heart bleeds. It gives other teams, like ourselves, that trophies can be won. It wasnt impossible that we could finish 7th, but i would be good money we wont. Birmingham beating Arsenal was f***ing magnificant. f*** that. Anything that has the realistic potential to benefit NUFC > Anything that benefits any other club. So, do you think we will finish 7th? f***ing hell man. We have more of a chance of finishing 7th than we do of finishing 6th. I know we have a chance, I was just asking a simply question without being arsey, do you think we will finish 7th? It's not impossible, if you honestly just want my opinion I agree, its not impossible, but hopway man, yes or no, do you think we will finish 7th? Do I look like I have a crystal ball? If someone put a gun to my head and demanded an answer, it'd be no. Now where is this going?

Uhm, yeah. Keep telling yourself that It's been three months since he's actually played for us and two months since he jumped ship. Things are going fine.
-
I guess I'm just an idiot for wanting a bit of respect for the man who's one of our best players, our best captain since Shearer, and pretty much the architect of our revival. He is fucking 3rd top scorer in the Premiership and people are still calling him "not even Premiership standard." Lunacy.

-
This argument is pointless as long as people refuse to accept that it's possible to blame both Ashley and Keegan for what happened without being an "Ashley apologist"
-
You just never get tired of his "Steven Taylor - Geordie Hero" mode where he just starts running up the pitch and towards goal like a mad man. It's right up there with those "WTF, Colo, why are you there?" moments.
-
Ferguson was brilliant in the 4-3 against Chelsea. Just needs to bulk up really.
-
Agreed, we know for a fact that only great players get double-digit England caps. Emile Heskey 62, Phil Neville 59, Joe Cole 56, Gareth Barry 45, Shaun Wright Phillips 36, Wayne Bridge 36, Glen Johnson 31, Alan Smith 19. A team with all of those players could almost beat Newcastle! Absolutely ridiculous this "goals don't count" fetish some people seem to have. Right it's not as if goals decide who wins or anything. I would take a midfielder who does nothing but score fifteen goals a season GLADLY. So would about 15 other teams in the Premiership. They're not everything, no, but the way some people try to bend over backwards to ignore them so they can look smart is just I'm not even going to mention the fact that the assumption that all Nolan does is score is a myth invented by people who are too lazy to actually watch matches and just apply their pre-determined stereotypes to every player. It's right up there with "Milner can't cross"
-
I'm sorry, I forgot that goals don't count.
-
Whatever, at this point I've pretty much forgotten that he exists.
-
I'd consider nearly one goal every two games for a midfielder is staggeringly consistent. Comes down to the simple acknowledgement that you could never really rely on Dyer, that's okay when you've got quality and squad depth like Bobby's teams did you can afford to have somebody who only shows up from time to time but is brilliant when he does. When you have Alan Shearer as club captain you can afford to have a nutter you have to take care of. We could afford neither in the current team and Nolan's leadership is critical, which is why I would take him over Dyer in his prime for our current team in a heartbeat. Interesting side note: While obviously Dyer was the better footballer, Nolan has already scored more league goals in two seasons than Dyer had in his entire NUFC career. If "the Championship doesn't count," He's still scored more Premiership goals than Dyer did in his last four years for us within two thirds of a season.
-
Averaging 23.75 league appearances per season is pretty horrible. That's on a similar level to the likes of Ledley King. You don't want your best players missing approximately 30% of the season. Nobody's denying that Dyer would be a great player if he was not a crock, not an inconsistent headcase, and not a selfish bastard. But he is, he is, and he is. Given the choice of having Nolan or the Bobby-era Dyer in our team right now, I'd take Nolan.
-
He wouldn't be making us contenders for Europe because he'd be out for six weeks after poking his eye with a training cone.

Comedy gold Would be amazing if that police officer lady had absolutely no idea who he was.

All of these threads should just be merged and renamed to "hi, My name is crumpy grunt and I hate life."
-
The Nolan-Barton "this group of lads" ethos is far more important to the team than any individual player. (Even ) We need him for the foreseeable. In the meantime, 15-odd goals a season from midfield isn't bad.

Korean club Jeju United are offering a "Home Match Recall" system for the 2011/2012 season. All paying fans who witness a home loss get free entry to the next match if they show their ticket stub at the gate. ST holders get an extra ticket as well. Granted, they were unbeaten at home last season, but I don't think I've ever seen a team actively jinxing their own season like this
-
Oba just took or Europa league ticket and kicked it into little pieces.
-
How? If City (or Liverpool *shudder*) win the Europa League. So if Arsenal had won and Liverpool won the Europa, we could've gotten to Europe with EIGHTH? That just made me sadder
-
Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?

Man, this basically just ended our season. Well, not completely, but almost. -
we're not even 7th at the minute man I've been dreaming of playing FC Yakshaggers away on Wednesday nights for weeks now though. This has pretty much ended our season
