Carroll definitely deserves to be on the bench every game now. At the very least he should be yard ahead the pecking order over Ameobi since it looks like he basically does everything Ameobi does but better. As for Edgar and Kadar, throwing kids into the back line in the thick of a relegation battle is not a good idea, no matter how shit our current defenders are.

I'm a compulsive Given apologist but I have to admit that Harper's been looking better these last two games.

Only team in the prem (other than Derby) playing worse than us at the moment. Five league losses on the trot, no league goals in the last four matches, last won on December 22nd. Seeing how the Mackems/Boro/Wigan/Birmingham are all playing decently and Fulham and Derby are already down, I think it's basically us v. them for the last spot. Surely they won't get anything at Villa Park, so hopefully our head start is staying at six points. They also arguably have the more difficult schedule from now on. However, the complication is that we still have to play them and we always seem to lose these games against team's having a bad run. So.. Think we can do it?

honestly I would consider dropping him and just playing Duff and Milner on the wings with Enrique at LB. like I've said several times already, he's flashy and nice to look at, but he hasn't really created anything after the first three games of the season.

Keegan needs to stop playing a left midfielder at left back just because he can't choose two out of three wingers. Nicky Butt is absolutely done as a footballer. I appreciate that Keegan got 110% out of these players (at least before conceding the second,) but he's going to have to answer for his team selection.
