    Erik Pieters

Not for the club Lambias makes an enquiry about player, leaks interest to press... then does not more about it, fans hopes built up.. smoke screen complete. .com reporting that the deal broke down when PSV wouldn't sell without having a replacement lined up. S'pose it all comes down to who you believe. I also found it strange how the death of his grandmother prevented him from taking care of his future.
  6. From what I've seen in videos, he has excellent balance. He has a big presence for a young'un and I can see him developing into a cracking player. Time will tell but I'm glad we're even looking at him, letalone getting him (potentially) signed.
  7. Of course he has. He's back-up and that's it.
  8. Top work @JonPijnen_TV picking up exclusive shots of Davide Santon leaving his Newcastle hotel this morning. Headed for medical now #nufc we need those shots to build up a ben arfa style hype again
  9. It's called desperation. Thread title updates are all we can cling on to in these crazy transfer windows..
  10. common sense isn't welcome 'round these parts, go have a word with yourself..
  11. Could be like Rossi all over again. We simply have to get a striker in, permanently. Would be insane if we didn't. (therefore I totally expect it to happen)
  12. Deal could be touch and go.. http://i.imgur.com/wSaYt.png
  13. If he signs for us then I'll eat my fucking sandwich. ALL OF IT.
  14. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=622722 "Never heard of him. He could be the worst player on the planet, but as soon as he runs out for those fuckers he will turn into Messi."

Must admit I totally had different expectations for how he sounded in interviews, the one on MOTD last night threw me. Thought he'd have a proper deep irish voice
  16. I hope our current table placing and season start is impressing potential signings
  17. Always remember the backpage headline simply being the best pun-tastic headline ever. "COCO POPS INTER TOON" I will never forget that headline. oh and yeah, Santon looks fucking ridiculously good in videos I've seen, be an immense capture if we can pull it off.
  18. christ, last time I checked it was 3-0!
  19. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11731_7135251,00.html Swansea defender Alan Tate has broken his leg in a freak accident while playing golf. Tate was a passenger in a buggy at a south Wales golf club on Sunday afternoon when the driver lost control. The 28-year-old former Manchester United trainee was diagnosed with a broken tibia in his left leg after being taken to Morriston Hospital by ambulance. Tate is in his 10th season with the Swans and has played more than 300 games for the club and he was on the bench for Saturday's goalless draw at home to Swansea. "The club's vice-captain was a passenger in a golf buggy that lost control at a local golf club this afternoon," read a club statement. "Tate was taken to Morriston Hospital by ambulance where he was diagnosed with a fractured tibia of his left leg."
  20. Alan Pardew has hailed the leadership qualities of Fabricio Coloccini for Newcastle since being given the captain's armband. "You have to be very impressed with him as a person," he said. "He's taken it almost as a mission in terms of coming to talk to me and understanding what I am trying to achieve, understanding what the club is trying to achieve. "I have been very impressed with him, and not only his leadership, but his playing as well, which has been of the highest order so far." Dependable Coloccini, who signed from Deportivo La Coruna back in 2008, has been one of United's most dependable players and become a cult hero on Tyneside. And asked if the captaincy had helped bolster Coloccini's performances, Pardew answered: "I think that's fair to say. "He has taken on a responsibility for the team, for the club, I have certainly felt that in conversations with him. "Some players, you sense, will grow with the captaincy, and he is certainly one of those." Top game today
  21. A bright young keeper who is undoubtedly our #1 now. Was fantastic today
