I think he'll play on

^ Have that still running. Now 3 € on Schalke, Bremen, Wolfsburg, Hamburg (dnb), Chelsea (-1) 1 € on Scorecast: Carroll/2-0 win. 2 € on Carroll and Nolan both to score.
-
This isn't an "ala Shepherd" signing. He's on loan and if he's good we will buy him, if he's not, he will go back. We haven't paid the big millions for him (yet).
-
There is a Greggs in Bremen? Would be news to me...
-
Credit where credit has to go. I think Derek deserves some for that transfer. Sorry, it shouldn't take 3 weeks to get a loan deal done! Well, that's true.

Haha, Llambias has aged twenty years because of this. Thats exactly what I was thinking with the old manns cardy Llambias could have done better by wearing a suit like.

He's got big steps to follow in One overhead-kick a game plese.

I've hard Barton (I think it was Barton) saying Nobby to Nolan as well.

How pointless is that? http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20100828/wolves-v-nufc-live_2240137_2137757

Hughton is clever enough to know that the Accrington won't have any chance against Chelsea. He'll mix both teams up, will put some fringe players like Lovenkrands, Shola, Krul and Ryan Taylor into our Premier League team and that's it.
-
Maybe next year then...
-
Won't be happening.

Typical sensationalist media spin here. Anyway: defies belief. Add that to what Taylor said about Shearer being the only manager who had every given him any 1-to-1 training in 5 years and you begin to wonder just what some managers actually did in training. Believe nowt from Steven Taylor, man. He's licked everyone's arse from Souness to Shearer. Wanted to post that before, but didn't know how to put that in words.

I hope we'll get Villa at home for some reason...
-
Say him at the WC and smiths dogshit. It's almost irrelevant what he was like in the WC. Yeah but we've seen smith for years now and he's crap. Was O.K. against Man Utd and quite brilliant against Villa, though.

Consider the cost of everyone else in the dressing room wanting parity with his wages / relative payrise. Exactly. Not to mention the fact that the term 'proven prem quality' isn't applicable here. Hes more proven at PL level than Coloccini and hes our top earner isnt he? Taylor's had 5 pretty poor seasons in my book. Makes him no more proven that someone with 1 'bad' season. Name me a newcastle CB that's had a decent season in the premiership last 5 years..... Because if your theory is correct, it'll be none Faye, Bassong Bassong didn't have a decent season imo, all he had was a better season that Cacapa, Coloccini, Taylor...

it's just speculation from the Daily Mail (Which will hopefully turn out to be false) But seeing Shola up front on his own really does not fill me with confidence Would rather see ranger up front on his own tbh. Shola's more clinical when it comes to taking chances, though. And we won't get too many today, I think.

-
Is Carroll definitely out? I doubt that as there was nothing from Hughton on that. (or has he said anything?)
-
When does Capello name his next squad for the qualifiers? (Or has he done it already?) I think Carroll should be getting into the squad from now on. England should build a team for the EURO 2012/WC 2014 and Carroll will probably be one of the best strikers by then.

Don't think anyone's saying it would be a poor signing as such, more the fact they're questioning why he would come in the first place. I could be making it up, but I'm sure in the not too distant past, a fair few on here turned their noses up at the idea of getting him. Happily hold my hand up here - don't really rate him. Yes, he's probably an upgrade on Lovelyhands but he's not exactly a longer term prospect and I don't know if the drop in team morale/togetherness would be worth the extra quality he would bring. Has a questionable attitude IMO, never really taken to him like some on here. He's Irish, and therefore probably A) Drinks too much and B) Likes Leprichauns so for me, he is not worth it. Spot on, after the Shay Given/Stephen Carr/Andrew O'Brien fiasco, we should stay clear of these troublemakers. Leon Best being a considered exception (as he's obviously not Irish) Hughton, Best and Keane... three Irish men again
