This is the feeling I get. I have grown to him this season but it is very important to remember the standard of this league compared to the top flight. But didn't Coloccini play well at the start of last season against the likes of Man Utd for example? I think it has to do more with confidence than with ability and that with the confidence he gains this season he will be a much better player next season.

My prediction is of course now that Geremi will go, that Beckford and Kilgallon are coming in. But I also wouldn't be surprised if we manage to sell or at least loan out LuaLua as Hughton doesn't seem to rate him.

It's still the same old Mike Ashley & Derrek Llambias runned Newcastle in terms of communication. Why can't they make a statemant if he's gone or will go or still here or anything? It's not that difficult, is it?

But all in all I still think that Shearer was "too hard" to the players. They could virtually do what they wanted under Hughton before Big Al came in and then from one day to the other they had something like "rules". Of course Shearer was/is absolutely 100% right with this, but I don't think it was the right thing to do in a relegation battle.

He DID motivate Viduka tbh. I also think Shearer could and should have done better and should have probably kept us up - but in terms of motivation I think he did allright. Owen and Butt for example played much much better in Shearers first match vs. Chelsea than they did the time before under Hughton. And Viduka would have never ever played for us again if Shearer had not been.

I bet Hughton has much simplier explanations for his squad selections, something like "you 11 are going to play, because you're a good group of lads..."

Never really hated any NUFC player tbh. Didn't/Don't like Xisco for obvious reasons, though. Overal I sometimes hated Cristiano Ronaldo (For example after that 6-0 defeat were he got a hattrick) Edit: other posts just reminded me again how much I hate Steven Gerrard of course.

Or do you reckon some might go a bit earlier? Of course a bit earlier, but Geremi will be here on the 2nd January. There's also no mention on .com that he would be away that early.
