  1. Will Geremi not be away to the ACN? Don't think so as the opening fixture of the ACN is on 13th Jan.
  2. No. This interview what you mean was in December 2008. His Liverpool street fight was in 07. btw here's the interview of today to listen to: http://news.bbc.co.uk/today/hi/today/newsid_8399000/8399845.stm
  3. Didn't really know where to post this, so decided to start a new topic. Think it's interesting to read and he's right with a lot of here. Edit: Forgot to post the link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/8434270.stm
  4. 1) BEST TOON DEFENDER FROM THE LAST DECADE has to be Woodgate 2) BEST MIDFIELDER Nobby Solano 3) BEST STRIKER Shearer, of course 4) BEST OVERALL PLAYER Shearer as well 5) BEST MANAGER Only one Kevin Keegan... 6) MOST DISAPPOINTING PLAYER Luque. Had high expectations in him. 7) WE SHOULD HAVE SIGNED... Rooney 8) WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE LET GO... Bellamy 9) BEST HOME GAMES Bolton last season (as I was at SJP for that one), Sunderland, Reading and Fulham (all under Keegan) 10) BEST AWAY / NEUTRAL GAME the 4:1 win over Spurs in 2008 11) WORST GAME Villa away last season, Sporting Lisbon in 2005 UEFA CUP (the 4:1 defeat) 12) BEST GOAL SCORED Shearer vs. Everton (the volley), also loved the goal that Milner scored on New Years day vs. Man Utd. 13) WORST GOAL CONCEDED Duff's own goal vs. Villa 15) BEST HAIRCUT Alan Smith's current one 16) WORST HAIRCUT Andy Carroll's last season vs. West Ham (the conrow) 17) BEST LOOKING PLAYER Owen and David Edgar 18) UGLIEST PLAYER Stephen Carr, maybe 19) DIRTIEST PLAYER Scott Parker 20) BEST STARTING XI OF THE DECADE Given Beye Woodgate Taylor Enrique Parker Solano Speed Owen Shearer Bellamy 21) PREDICTIONS FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS - MORE /LESS / EQUALLY SUCCESSFUL Next 3 or so years will be a mixture of Premierleague midfield and relegation fight. After that and with a new owner we will get back to Europe again. I'm optimistic 22) IF YOU COULD CHANGE ONE THING FROM THE LAST DECADE The second part of the Ashley era, as it started quite well with getting KK back and playing stylish football.
  5. Just had another look at this list, is anybody on here seriously considering Toppmöller? One of the worst managers I've ever seen imo.
  6. Keegan if we get new owners. This as well as Shearer. I would prefer the first under the right circumstances above anybody else tbh as the last time I really enjoyed us playing football was under KK. Under Ashley Hughton will be kept as manager as long as possible imo.
  7. Don't think he's going to risk Nolan in the cup. Apart from that I think that could be the line-up.
  8. I'd rather resign Viduka than signing Boyd, Beckford or Chopra. But instead of signing a striker at all I would be happy with a new good winger as we only have Jonas who can't deliver, Pancrate wo only shots when he gets the ball or Guthrie who isn't a real winger or last but not least R.Taylor who isn't quite comfortable on the ball. What about someone like Emerton or even Kewell? Or (because he was linked with us a year ago) Luic Garcia. We won't be able so sign a good winger in his twenties so sign someone who is over 30 but is able to deliver.
  9. If we buy some new, good, maybe even experienced players and let only the likes of Geremi go, than yes. Basically to be able to survive we should have such a good squad to keep out Nicky Butt the hole season.
  10. fucking Stoke! Thought they were such a good home side
  11. Why? played poor vs. Wednesday didn't he? Think R.Taylor deserves a start finally again, too.
  12. It will just be void. If it was just a single you'll get the money back, if it's part of an accy then it's not part of it but the other games still stand. thanks, it's part of my accy, which is going well so far.
  13. Does anyone here know whats if a match is postponed as far as betting is concerned? I've put sth. on the Doncaster - Leicester game and the match is off. Will my bet be canceled and my money returned or will the match count when it's played later sometime?
  14. We will win as after only a draw last Saturday our players will give it a good go (I hope). Also the fact that Smith is due to be back will help.
  15. Swansea - Palace Swansea or draw Scunthorpe - WBA WBA or draw Peterborough - Cardiff Cardiff or draw Doncaster - Leicester Leicester or draw Stoke - Birmingham Stoke or draw Hull - Man Utd Man Utd 3 € returns around 15. Also put 21€ on us to win vs. Derby what returns a possible 30 €. And my last 0,60 € on a 3-0 for us -> which returns 5,40€
  16. To be fair to Hughton, he got most of his subs this season spot on. Yes, sometimes they were too late to make an impact, but as I said most of the time he got them right. He has rarely made a decision dependent on how the game is shaping, he has done it to time. For example, we were defending a 1-0 lead somewhere this season with 5 minutes to go, and he put a third striker on the pitch - I mean wtf?! It was Sheffield United away wasn't it where he brought on Ranger for Simpson and Harewood late on to hold onto a 1-0 lead. I can see where you're coming from with that! But it has worked against them, hasn't it? I think considering that on our bench were: Krul, Guthrie, Geremi, Tozer and Donaldson, who would you have picked to defend? I think to pick a striker for defence isn't the worst idea as in that case, Harewood and Ranger both are physicaly stronger than for example Guthrie and in Harewoods case also more experienced than anyone on the bench besides Geremi. And if I remember correctly they both did well at defending set pieces.
  17. To be fair to Hughton, he got most of his subs this season spot on. Yes, sometimes they were too late to make an impact, but as I said most of the time he got them right.
  18. I think it is likely. Hughton does not seem to rate Butt as high as many other managers we've had here. Today he had to play him as Smith was out. But once Barton returns I expect a centre midfield of him with Smith.
  19. Barton is set to return in the middle of next month. Looking forward to it. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6968038.ece
  20. There were some games this season where it was the opposite of that.
  21. Barton hasn't done it so far, he owes us big time. Don't want this to get into another Barton discussion but he has played in the centre of midfield in 2008 under Keegan and was probably our most important player in last seasons back-to-back wins vs. WBA and Villa.
  22. Thankfully I got some money for Christmas so it doesn't hurt that much.
  23. Looking forward to see Barton and Smith playing together there.
  24. You're insane mate. No honestly, hes done absolutely nothing wrong, and his long passes that usually end up with f*** all, are accurate today. No, he started hitting every ball to be a long ball and most of them were shit. But as soon as we got better he got bit better as well.
