  1. spies is amazing like, notting hill carnival less so, but the idea that we were losing 'cause spies were leaking shit from training is incredible...who needs to spy? he never fucking changes anything
  2. it's where we fucked up last season, fluked spurs then never picked up points against teams we should have and it became much too late....so many people couldn't see it at the time though if he makes it to the mackems game it'll define everything aye, 'cause if we go into that low on points and confidence i think they'll bury us again
  3. yeah, those games after man city are crucial like...of the 6 we need to be looking at a minimum of 3 wins, probably 4, because it's 4 bastards in a row after that including the mackems and i'd honestly take a bet now that di canio has pardew in his pocket after the last game that result will consume pardew imo, he'll fear himself into a defeat
  4. by the way, back to what ON said, if we're not in the top 10 by the time October rolls round we need to can him or we'll be in deep fucking shit again the way the fixtures look
  5. don't Would it not be preferable to see us do well under Pardew? unquestionably, i just know we won't
  6. yeah but ashley should have sacked pardew, so er, ashley or something
  7. so in response to me comparing how pardew has done this pre-season vs. another manager is it doesn't matter because ashley should sack him? the whole point of this thread and what was being discussed was about how well we'd done this pre-season vs. a perceived overreaction to the draw with rangers we're not talking about ashley, of course he should have sacked pardew before we hit 2013 (certainly before the end of last season), i was one of the fucking first people to say it
  8. Yep. It's strange people can't take in criticism of the board/owner without reverting to pointing to Pardew as our major problem, conveniently sidestepping the fact that he too has been appointed and given more time by the same incompetent people at the top. i'm sorry like, but in the immediate term he is our major problem, because he's a football manager who is very poor at managing football teams this discussion was sort of restarted by me this morning not to juxtapose how brendan rodgers employers have or have not backed him this summer to make him more successful, it was to highlight how rodgers has gone out with purpose and intent to make sure liverpool have a good season to the best of his abilities pardew seems to have done little more than complain about new signings, ostensibly that ashley employed him and should have sacked him is by the by really 'cause he's still the manager
  9. people need to separate the idea of pardew not being backed (partially true but not entirely) with a real honest look at how he's performing as a manager with what he's had available to him in the interests of fairness he massively overachieved when we finished 5th but he's been on a seemingly unstoppable slide ever since, was backed with new players to try and arrest our slide, and almost managed to take us down he's had deficiencies in his squad, as have most managers tbf, but nothing that comes close to justifying the last year
  10. well if rumours are to be believed that's not the reason pardew is still manager and jfk is roaming the SJP stands looking under the seats for new players
  11. but he's right, we should be able to do much better by default with the existing squad we have
  12. but why couldn't he get goals with HBA, marveaux, debuchy, campbell, cisse (later), cabaye, sissoko, gouffran, santon, anita against poor opposition? don't tell me there's not goals enough there to see of rangers and the tripe we've been playing....note i didn't mention goal machine shola either
  13. As a lawyer, I never understand why players don't just use law firms to act for them instead of agents. I suppose sometimes it is helpful for a player to have a shady character who is more than happy to agitate for moves on your behalf in a way that a lawyer would be dutybound not to act. That is what Ronnie is on about as he's practising law I believe. watch jerry macguire (sp)
  14. this is it man, what i'm saying with pardew is i want him to show some signs that he can succeed in the face of adversity...he failed so spectacularly at this last season it was embarrassing, so i wanted to see a reaction from him this summer, a reaction like rodgers has shown at liverpool because he knows he's under pressure to improve this season i get none of that with pardew, i'd maybe take a punt that he was sitting it out waiting for the sack and payoff
  15. no i'm aware, and cisse wasn't playing in a lot of our games but then liverpool have been without suarez, as an example, yet have bagged 17 goals i dunno man, it's all mitigation and excuses with pardew because he can't put a team on the park to go out and just fucking beat the opposition
  16. results suggest we're not scoring goals still, against shite teams, that should worry anyone man 'cause we can't score enough goals in the PL
  17. remy and a new manager would have done me
  18. thought the same about deschamps like, and to be honest to make a top 5 in the world list (current) you'd want to be seeing titles and cups on there ergo i'm not convinced wenger should be there
  19. shouldn't be a difficult thing to sort out them, if the concern is playing temperature...FIFA tell the quataris that in summer 2014 they want a demonstration of a game played in temperatures below 30 degrees with a full house of fans watching pass or fail, fail you lose the world cup
  20. here brett, just as a little aside to us overreacting to a 1-1 draw with rangers i was just reading about liverpool's pre-season...if you recall they finished 7th and had a good end to the season including a summary execution of another team on their own ground rodgers wanted to ensure they started the season well so ran them into the ground in training, gerrard commenting it was some of the most difficult pre-season training he's ever had, and they've played 6, won 6, conceded 1 and scored 17 goals take a moment to compare that to our pre-season preparations and results...we only guaranteed safety in game 37 of the season it's things like this that has people like me so against pardew
  21. favourite WC ever 1994, was glorious from the moment diana ross shenked her pelanty
