Your first mistake was listening to brexit radio

I'm looking at it this way; the Saudis have wealth the level of which is going to be needed to get rid of Ashley. They could buy us and then get bored, have a change of direction in their planning or whatever, but that being the case sale attempts would be genuine and they'd treat the club as a legitimate concern. Ashley has to go and the two options seem to be someone rich meets the price or we freefall down the divisions hoping he calls it a day. First option looks the best to me.

The standard of journalism in this country is really something to behold. As has been said, takeover attempts since 2008 to a supposed "willing seller" and not one of them succeed? Let's say this fails as well, the richest sovereign wealth fund in the world or whatever it is - there should only ever then be articles questioning Mike Ashley and exposing his lies. But alas, the media in this country exists for nothing more than keeping rich people rich and doing/saying whatever they want.

Yes he is. That's not right is it? Thought he got a UK visa knocked back but gets in on an Israeli passport or summit. Don't think he was ever banned.

Absolutely loving the dissenting voices in this. Got some time for it tbph.

I'm all in.

if there's a manager in world football that deserves a shot at complete backing with top level resources to spend it's rafa imo, i'm massively biased toward him but he really seems like he's been boned by shit owners more than once and had he been given the chances mourinho has over the years for example i feel sure he'd have achieved sustained success

Am I reading those articles right in that they seem to be saying this 'angry at the leak' thing is actually he's angry that Staveley is involved again. As if he wasn't aware of that fact. Doesn't seem to make sense, but then they're probably just making shit up as per.
-
Did I imagine during the first Stavely carry on that the Ruebens have bought half the property in toon?
-
Bruce should be shot with shit the way he's treated Ki. Typical PFM shite.
-
Imagine just being competitive at the top end of the table again man. Christ.
-
He's selling the club so it won't be considered one of his assets anymore.

There's a few things imo, certainly playing deeper for a start. The hanging onto the ball thing, imo, is partly system based coupled with the above. He's not got the options for a pass he had last year when he looked good. We were playing well at that time and people were making moves into space all the time so he could move the ball on quickly and then move into space himself. Now he's getting the ball very deep with only really long, direct passes to look for and that's clearly not something he's comfortable with therefore he's looking about longer for options all the time.

Why would the story leaking cause it to fall apart anyway? Absolute bullshit.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Investment_Fund_of_Saudi_Arabia Why would they need partners to complete a £350m purchase of NUFC? No doubt they'll drop out when Mike Ashley raises the asking price by £10m even though they probably make that much money in 10 minutes from oil. Yep doesn’t stack up for me. It’s clearly bollocks. Some are saying they need people in the UK to set up companies and stuff but I refuse to believe they couldn’t get one of their own people to do it for them here without involving the likes of Staveley and the Reuben brothers. Guardian one sort of answers that. She approached them and wants a stake, they want her to be the public face which sort of makes sense if they're trying to improve the image of the country.

This one has to be the one. Fucking Saudi murderers man, I mean how could it be anyone or anyone else?

Oxford United 2-3 Newcastle United - FA Cup 5th round @ WBA beckons
mrmojorisin75 replied to BlueStar's topic in Football
That's a bit insane. I actually went back and worked it out - there are 73 different teams who have scored in the 4th round since then. If Tranmere score later today that makes 74. Including such luminaries as Crawley, Aldershot, Newport, Barnet, Stevenage (naturally), Sutton etc etc. Some of those on more than one occasion too. It's an almost unbelievable stat. And of course, the last time you scored was in a 2-4 loss to West Brom. The year before that you lost in the third round to Hull...without scoring a goal in two matches. The year before that you lost 3-0 to Arsenal in the 4th. The year before that you lost in the third round. Since January 2006, when you beat Cheltenham Town, you have scored precisely two 4th Round FA Cup goals...both in that defeat at West Brom. That's completely insane. If I'm right, the next highest team in the league right now who have not scored in the 4th round for the same amount of time is Ipswich in League One. Actually, Ipswich scored in 2010 too, so that might make 74 as both your last goal and theirs came at 90+1 mins. And now I look at it, Scunthorpe scored the next day, so that might be 75. God I'm bored. -

You want Almiron to play on the right? FML -
They are either not wanted by other clubs or are happy to run down their contracts. I reckon they'd have to take a ridiculous pay cut for other clubs. Colback is on 60k ffs as he was on a free. Aye but we accounted for his contract 2 years ago. If we weren't owned by a barrow boy we could have surely got shot paying say half the wages for him and shite like Saivet. Bin 3-4 players and use the savings for 1 good one. But Mike Ashley etc.
-
I agree with this completely. You'd have to think the striking issue will solve itself if they find a role for him and he gets some confidence back. Needs to play as a false 9 imo.
-
I wonder if the plan, such as it is, will be to drop Almiron centrally and a little deeper as the goals he's got recently have mostly come from arriving onto stuff late as opposed to skinning people on the wing or getting in behind. He's got the engine for it and defensive mindset as well. Could make a lot of sense but not sure how you'd fit that into the overall system.
-
Wanted him when we got Miggy. Would be great to reconnect them but not sure he would have the same impact here. Not seen a lot of him but he's the type I'd be going for rather than trying to replace Rondon again. Play a front 3/4 with a lot of pace, movement and technical ability that can break out and transition on their own vs. just fucking hoofing it.
-
The key is getting the balance between putting the whole team in front of the opposition and actually being able to transition to attack then. We'd just kicked into gear and started that under Rafa, I suspect we're unlikely to see it in a hurry under Bruce. More likely we'll have more games where we score a few more and more where we get dicked. When he gets "his" players that is.
-
Don't give a fuck either way but disagree with this. Play the strongest team, just don't risk players.
-
You love to see that against Everton
