The more I think about it, the more certain I am that Staveley isn't what she seems. It's the only thing that makes any sense really. I think scepticism is healthy where this club and takeover rumours are concerned, and I also think where she is concerned. Also believe Staveley unlikely to come back if she couldn't meet the financial demands, why waste the time, so things are either plodding along in the background or Ashley's demands have fucked it. The logic was pretty simple to understand and sensible. It was to stop the season starting whilst players were refusing to play to get moves or feigning injury etc. Clubs have months to buy who they want. Personally think there should be no January transfer window and the manager you start the season with you retain until season ends. Said this about managers for ages. You should be able to sack them but only appoint from within.

Feels like this is right to me. He'll want all the benefits he has now (global tat shop adverts) with none of the hassle of actually owning a team, and +£100m profit. That's what he'll almost certainly want to walk away with.
