You must have a very inflated view of the quality of the Championship i have a very realistic view of the quality and hunger of our current players, plus i'm aware of the snowballing effect that off the pitch disruption could have next season just think of it come the start; no manager in place, no sale, all the same shit still on the books, wage bill crippling ashley, uncertainty everywhere, kinnear/hughton running the team in limbo nah it'll all be fine, just like last season

eerily familiar that

anyone thinks this ends quickly is sadly deluded, the whole world knows they've got ashley over a barrel 'cause he's desperate to bail it's gonna be a painful stumble to the start of the season if we stay up next year it will be a fucking miracle the way this is playing out

hey, did anyone mock this shirt up with short and socks the same colour as the dark blue/black piping? might not be so utterly horrendous then imo
-
this, like when iran & the states met, anyone remember? france 98? whole stand full of iran fans bouncing about wearing ayatollah t-shirts, if i recall correctly!!!

in case being the key words there I've no doubt they will get thrashed by Brazil. Brazil, in their clean, classic, well designed Nike shirt. A shirt that would have been no doubt butchered beyond all recognition - with zippers, stripes, neon panels and tinsel - had it been left to Adidas. You mean their adidas kit that is too heavy to wear and looks like they wore it during the 50's? Adidas (and beter still Adidas originals) piss over Nike like Oasis pissed over Blur* *only brought that up as something things my taste in music effects "class" :colo: psyche!
-
For the last time NO! Adidas>>>>>>Seeing Viduka playing naked>>>>>>>>>Weaing Nike Nike makes far better kits than adidas ever will. I suppose if you like carrying knives. Adidas actually have some class about them ha ha, an Oasis fan talking about class, i've seen it all now nike piss on the grave of adidas strips

Why play down the talk? Llambias almost never says anything to the fans and the press, but this time when this Profitable Group show interest to buy the club and make up a very interesting plan how to take the club forward... he says it's just bullshit! He don't want us to feel excited and happy. I think he hates us. I think its more the fact that there has been no contact and this group are getting free media attention. Its only right they come and and say there not a serious contender. I'd be interested to hear how the club know they're not a serious contender if they've not even spoken to them. Bah fuck it anyway, it's going to be like this for weeks isn't it. nailed

http://football.guardian.co.uk/fiver/0,,415657,00.html To: [email protected] ( mailto:[email protected] ) From: [email protected] ( mailto:[email protected] ) Subject: Re: Please buy my football club for GBP100m Dear Mr Ashley, We are emailing you to inquire about the possibility of buying Newcastle United Football Club for GBP100m, as advertised on your website. We have always fancied the idea of owning our own football club and are currently in a position to invest in one, having recently received winning notification from Mr Austin Connor, a claim agent with the Ontario Lottery Corporation, that we have won exactly that amount in their latest draw for the promotion of the 2010 Soccer World Cup to be hosted in South Africa. We have been assured that the GBP100m will be deposited in our bank account just as soon as we have sent Mr Connor the GBP10,000 he needs to help facilitate the processing of our claim. Speaking of which, we were wondering if, as a gesture of goodwill ahead of our imminent purchase of your football club, you might be able to loan us this GBP10,000, as our own life savings are currently tied up helping Dr (Mrs) Mariam Abacha (M.O.N), the wife of the late head of state and commander-in-chief of the armed forces of the federal republic of Nigeria, who recently emailed us out of the blue to inquire if we might assist her in getting the $80m supposedly misappropriated by her late husband out of Nigeria, packed in trunk boxes in such a way to forestall anybody else having access to it. Once we have received our own 40% share of this bounty, we will obviously repay your GBP10,000 in full, with 15% on top for your co-operation. All we need from you is an assurance that you can handle the amount involved comfortably and that we can also trust you with this very arrangement. Oh ... and a cheque for GBP10,000 made out to us. Obviously we can imagine that a businessman as shrewd as yourself might be wondering why it is that somebody such as ourselves, who are London-based, overweight, fond of a beer and with neither ties to the north-east nor any discernible trace of business acumen would be willing to pay such an enormous amount of money for a football club, as it seems like the kind of foolhardy impulse-buy that only a congenital idiot would undertake, particularly without checking the books first. But you look trustworthy and have a nice face, not unlike that of the idiot that one might encounter sitting on a stile outside any English village. We look forward to hearing from you by return mail, All the best, The Fiver. PS While we are aware that you are looking for GBP100m for your club, we were wondering if perhaps you'd be willing to consider selling it for a knockdown price, as there are certain parts of it that we don't actually want: the entire playing staff, those fat blokes whose job it is to convene outside it and cheer raucously every time a new consignment of stationery is delivered to the club office, Shearer's bar, Shearer's tattoo parlour, Shearer's replica shirt shop, Shearer Stottie cake shop and Shearer.

not sure why he's getting credit for giving up a 100m no-one even knows he's going to for sure yet it's obviously just a matter of take 100m for the club now and write off 140m or keep ploughing on with something he's totally horrendous at and risk reducing his asset even further put it in gamblers terms he was 240 down overall but could win 100 back and he's deciding whether to gamble that 100 or take it and run...if it was me personally i'd probably do the same

some people need to wake up man, who on earth are we going to loan who is any good and their club will be willing to sell them to us after a year? er, it's no-one isn't it? we need to spend whatever funds we have on players who can stay at the club 3-5 years then flesh out the squad with young, talented loans from the likes of manu, arse & liverpool or whoever we can get good players from assuming we bounce back up we can then look to replace the loanees or even buy them if they were that good and their clubs agree You contradict your own post. what i mean is throw money at them when back in the PL should they perform very well for us and we feel they'd be worth us stumping up cash for clubs will not just easily allow quality to fuck off on loan with clauses already there to buy them if they thought they were going to be top class - the only ones you'd get that for is people they know aren't going to cut it or ones they're not sure of it's not a contradiction - i did say "willing to sell them to us" but i'm talking about it being all agreed in advance as you're saying is the only type of loan we should look for take vela as an example from arsenal; we loan him & he storms us up the league but isn't likely to start if he goes back to arsenal and we're promoted - a bid of 10m (or whatever) might turn their heads if we want him that badly but are arsenal likely to send him to us with the deal already agreed regardless of his performance? i doubt it

broadsheet this morning was saying the delay is largely down to ashley's financial people going over shearer's demands and checking they're "financially viable" this makes the most sense to me regarding the delay, i honestly think ashley would want shearer as manager and will now probably do what he can to make that happen (for the reasons stated elsewhere about him being fucked if he doesn't, nothing else) but shearer is not a financial expert so if he's demanding 'x' amount in transfer fees over 'x' amount of years and 'x' amount in wages then i can understand that needing to be checked against what is viable for the club as we know ashley isn't a bottomless pit of money this will probably be construed as ashley arse-licking or something but relegation doesn't REMOVE the need for financial prudence, it becomes more pertinent now and plans need to be made, plus contingency plans in the event we don't come up etc... shearer will be the manager, i feel sure of that now - to me talks wouldn't have lasted so long if they just rejected what he was asking for a la keegan...this is the most important decision the club has faced in many years so i for one would rather they take their time and get it right rather than rush into it only to see it collapse

Tim Krul coming out with positive noises about Shearer and staying to fight for the no 1 shirt leads me to believe that Shearer has been letting the younger, hungrier players know that they will be a big part of the new look Newcastle. Big Al's vision for the future has got me positively excited for the start of next season, I am really up for it now. so am i, once he signs and it's announced to be honest though, who he gets rid of is going to tell me as much about his intentions as who he buys
-
I'm sorry Kaka but that complete nonsense, once again, of course we will be looking at players with a proven record at this level and we'll have the cash to buy them, I'm sure about that. Looking at League 1 players makes no bloody sense whatsover. i'm with afar on this one - the average wage bill for the CCC is 9m or something and they papers (i know) reckon we'll attempt to maintain a 40m wage bill for a season to try and go up we'll be the biggest hitters down there by far and with the sales of martins & bassong, plus peanuts adding up from the likes of smith, shola or whoever else we ship there should be money to spend on new players from the CCC we need to buy players who aren't only gonna exist for a season, i.e. some scrappers who get us up who we've then got to offload to replace with PL players this is why loans are key for me, spend what money we have wisely getting the best players down there who have the potential to improve then flesh out the squad with loans all depends on fat mike though i suppose

on another note, slightly, has there been a better debut season for a manager than guardiola has just had? i'd like to think not -

mrmojorisin75 replied to Taylor Swift's topic in Football
ahahaha, english "domination" of the the CL eh? still only 3 wins since the tournament began in the CL format, some domination; some people in and out of the press should remember it has to actually be won to be dominated chuffed for barca, best team in the world by a street - and all the "ref helped them vs chelsea" merchants can fuck off too, it's called football & things going for/against you is part of it side with the more gifted players won tonight, class told finally -
man city style billionairre takeover done in a week - yes anything else no, rather see ashley led around by nose by shearer and be forced into some structured investment and planning on/off the pitch - stability for a fucking change

if nothing else this, he won it last year when he was europe's best but this year i'd like to see messi win it as he's the best player in the world bound to be ronaldo mind, 'cause he's a cunt -
4 loans would be a bit of a risk unless there the type that are likely to sign for you once the loan ends, i know loan players always want to prove there selves but at the end of the day they know there leaving in 6 months and heading back to the likes of liverpool, arsenal etc so would doubt there heart is really in it, 1 or 2 loans maybe but not a 3rd of the team. you still need a squad down there though, don't see the harm in 4 or so if we can get them - just make sure the ones we fancy have potential permanent deals written in, the others might see it as a way to prove themselves to us or their current club win/win imo

Do we really have 15 players earning more than 50k a week?
mrmojorisin75 replied to Tsunami's topic in Football
started under FS and ashley just continued it - pay big wages to get the players to come, problem is the players towards the end of FS's time and under ashley were/are fucking shit and never produced on the pitch not starting old vs new board, just a fact that the policy if you can call it that is a crock of shit if the wrong players are identified sums up our predicament really
