Losing massively at home to Cardiff after Sunderland raped them would be glorious. That said, watch Pardew stay on regardless.

"Why can we not say we could be champions? Anything is possible. We can challenge for it. We have good players, a good stadium and great supporters. We have to have confidence. I believe we can do what I say." - Hatem Ben Arfa "I do think clubs are thinking twice about Europe. The Europa League is a massive problem to Premier League teams, Swansea and Tottenham are both feeling that like we did last season." - Alan Pardew

It's embarrassing. He was trying to shoot for Cisse's goal against Palace apparently. someone give us a link god damn it. no idea how to search for stuff on twitter. Skirge's gone down in my estimation. Not even Marley can save him now.

Someone should spam a link to these pictures commenting on his instagram pictures.

I find myself seemingly being one of very few thinking Cardiff will now stroll out of the relegation battle due to facing Sunderland and us. Hopefully (in terms of Sunderland going down) I'll be proven right in a few hours.

I really did expect Shola "Ameobi!" followed by the panenka. Would've been quite amusing.
-
I find the Dark Jedi more in touch with this situation than someone outright Sith. Though I expect the Expanded Universe will just be tossed aside now Disney owns everything.
-
Like Pardew could use a Jedi mind trick. Jedis are honorable.
-
Sunderland will be down before the last round.
-
Basically, Norwich seem to be doing everything they can to go down, Fulham doing everything they can to piss up their chances of staying up. If Cardiff get a result tomorrow they will turn us over, if they get beaten then you can guarantee Pardew will manage to get our players up enough to beat beat them. Cardiff are playing well now, and Dæhli is amazeballs. They're going to beat Sunderland, then rape us and stay up.

If someone bought the club and broight with them money and ambition, but only at the cost of changing the club name to something else. (Newcastle Red Bulls, Newcastle Magpies, instead of Newcastle United) would you still support the club and be happy for the new money and ambition, or would you rater still the club be named NUFC but not fight at the top of the league. The scenario is meant to be future you looking back at what you'd rather have wanted of the two scenarios.

I think it's referring to comments made (IIRC) after last season's Pardew v Ashley head-to-head meet where Pardew kept his job, but that to continue keeping it he had to finish top 10 next season. I may be wrong remembering here, but I think some mention of the sort was done last summer.

You're nitpicking on a hypotethical situation, with set outlines for the events that happen in this scenario? What the f*** man. We all know it would be even worse than the scenario put forward, but that's not the question here at all. The question is if you'd accept a renaming of the club for success, using Red Bull as the example in this hypotethical scenario. The scenario of the question would be the same no matter how you replaced the company/new owner at hand. Say a big sheik comes waddling in with tons of cash, but he won't spend it until we're the "Newcastle Magpies" because so many clubs have "United" in their name and he likes Magpies. It's the question that's important here, not the potential buyer. I just do not like red bull at all so that was why i gave that response but to answer your question properly, disregarding the new owner completely, no i would not accept the renaming of the club for success. Would be interesting to hear the reasoning from someone who voted they wouldn't mind though.

Why in the name of god would you pick Everton of all teams? Because the NY Americans on here love Liverpool, Flip.

All success does (I imagine) is increase your expectations. Most of the baggage it brings is quite frankly embarrassing and certainly not something you would ever want to trade your club's identity for. I doubt a Man City fan truly feels any more enjoyment than a Rotherham fan, or a Forrest fan, or whoever. what. They haven't traded their identity though. They are still man city. You reckon when that Aguero goal went in that wasn't the single greatest moment of them supporting their team? Well what's the point we may as well turn it in if success brings "embarrassing baggage". I think you've completely missed what I'm saying here like, which is a canny effort considering the post was 3 lines long I'm not saying Man City have traded their identity, I'm saying that I wouldn't want us to trade our identity for what they have, as ultimately enjoyment of the sport is all relative. And are you trying to say success doesn't bring "embarrassing baggage"? Glory hunters, the "global brand", the fucking Poznan etc. I'm not saying this ought-weighs the enjoyment of winning trophies, just that it's another thing to consider. I'd pretty much take anything other than the shit we're being served up at the moment mind, it's just boring on every level. On that note, witnessing Newcastle win the league would be the greatest moment in my life, but if I didn't die from alcohol poisoning, I could probably live with going a while until the next trophy just to avoid glory hunters and the apathy towards winning trophies (Oh, nice, another trophy as expected. Yay.) my Man Utd supporting mates have. Is that a weird thought?
