Honestly think Shearer has it in him to be a decent manager. Would rather he proved himself somewhere else than at Newcastle, but still.

Not worthy of a thread - 2018 FIFA World Cup edition

On merit I think the US should've won it. Think they were the number 1 choice of the FIFA report (Qatar last and got a failing grade). Sport on the rise there, a WC would've perhaps seen the final nudge needed to make it an "accepted" US sport. They already had a world cup recently enough though Not saying they should've got it (though granted I would've wanted them to). Just based on FIFA's actual bid "report" they were clear winners and Qatar failed every aspect of their report . That said Australia would've been great as well. New continent for the WC. -

I would imagine the Russians know how to cover their tracks, bribery is the only thing that gets you anywhere there, it's ingrained into their culture. The Qataries would have covered up as well this it's easier to follow the trail wit their bid, as I said earlier FIFA fucked it up in anyway by practically admitting it was rigged by their voting. As I said, I don't doubt there were bribery with Russia as England and the other nations had much better bids. But if FIFA hadn't fucking let Qatar get a WC it'd be a lot easier to pass off the corruption as FIFA wanting new nations to get the WC as Russia at least have an existing long football culture. It's insane how they thought they could give it to Qatar and get away with it. No redeeming qualities to it. -

To be fair though, Russia has a football culture (albeit a violent and racist football culture ) Qatar has nothing of the sort and had no reason to get it beyond corruption. -
If a movie is good enough it can plant false memories into people's minds.

Life imitating art, funny how one small movie (that almost didn't get made) can lead to a real life celebration in a real life town.

If we're looking in Salzburg we should focus on Mane and/or Kampl (despite his hair) Despite his hair?! I'd get him for the hair.

2014 FIFA World Cup Brasilâ„¢ - Europe vs. America
Kaizero replied to LucaAltieri's topic in Football
Shit, man, think of the personality and character that team had and compare them to the current bunch of no marks. I can't get behind ingerland, it just doesn't feel like my team anymore. Must be the username, but I always thought you were Nordic! Thought he was Icelandic myself for some reason. -
We're so bad What we deserve when we try playing like we have talented players.

Jozy fucking Altidore in front of Landon Donovan. Jozy fucking Altidore. Klinsman can get fucked.
-
Mix = Goals. Will you listen now, America?
-
Mix in Donovan's number. My feels. Klinsmann hates me.
-
Will turn on the second half. Just put an in-play bet on USA -1. Did I make a whoopsie?
-
People should join ffs, this will be fun.

Very true. Also think an issue is that we don't separate the better youngsters from the shit ones at an earlier time. The mentality we have that "everyone needs to play, it's not about winning but having fun" until they're about 16 years old makes the talented young players play with shit teammates against shit opponents rather than play with good teammates against better opposition.

Yeah super bitter that Norway beat Brazil in two meaningless games It's a friendly, against a far superior team. Drillo was s*** man, absolute dogshite. No safety smiley? For Drillo? You have no right to ever complain about Pardew if you sincerely think Drillo ever was a good coach. Two completely different scenarios. Norway is s***. We'll probably never have players to not be s***. If someone can make that s*** manage to beat quality teams and look a cohesive side fighting for eachother to overcome a massive hurdle set in their path, that's someone doing something right. I'm never saying Drillo is a good coach if put in charge of a club team where you can build a side, but for Norway he was a good match until we do something completely different with our recruitment policies and start breeding actual footballers. We were f***ing top seeds in Europe under him. Norway. The f***ing worst football nation in Scandinavia. Not a good coach for Norway. Pardew making quality players play well below their actual level and settle for s*** results when he could make his team push on to be great, that's someone doing something horribly wrong. These two scenarios are uncomparable. Comparing club football with international football isn't good anyways. Not necessarily disagreeing, I do however think that the small success he had in the national team came in the 90s, an era where Scandinavian football was actually rather good and Norway had some very good footballers. The top seed thing is from the qualifying group draw before the WC one when we'd been shit for ages. I don't think we're far apart in our arguments though. I'm well aware the football Norway played would be shit to watch for a neutral, but my enjoyment from International football is much lesser than club football, so I in general just want Norway to qualify for a major tournament so I could cheer for my own nation. I'll always enjoy watching Norway beat the likes of Germany and such even if it's by counter attacking shit football because I know we could never actually be a better footballing side entertainment wise until something drastically changes in our youth recruitment. In club football that scenario is quite different, as you can always strive to be a better entertaining footballing side and add players to get the styles better.

Butcher, man. With responses like that he can just backtrack and pretend to have been fishing.
