There’s a question over whether Howe is going to be able to build an effective system with him in. I’m not sure he’s going to be our long term centre forward as I think we’ll always need pace up front that can stretch defences. In theory he could play behind a player like that and hopefully we see it tested with Wissa. I’m not sure Howe fancies it though.

Notts Forest fans don’t seem happy, they seem to be saying Dyche doesn’t play him because he’s not a big lump. Frankfurt seem to be going for everyone but Osula.

I can’t understand why some players can’t strike a ball. When it was laid off for Gordon from the free kick or for that chance where he skied it, I had no confidence he would get a decent connection. He’ll always scuff it or sky it.

He didn’t know how to change the game in the second half and just ended up doing nothing. We’re lucky they couldn’t finish.

The in-game management is non-existent.

When we go for a GK it has to be as close to a sure thing as we can get, and I don’t think Trafford is that. Last time he was in the premier league he lost his place to Muric, then he looked shaky for Man City in the summer. Also fuck offering them a profit. I’d see if Kobel and Carnesecchi are possible.

If there’s 3 buckets, one for players to keep, one for players I would listen to offers for, and one for players I would be pushing out the door and disowning, Botman would be in the middle bucket. There would be a lot of players in that bucket tbh.

Things are looking good for Villa, they look very likely to get CL football next year and they’re favourites for the Europa League. As for us, I’d bite your hand off for a conference league place.

Keeping possession when pressed is a big problem. We can keep it all day if they just sit back and shuffle from side to side like Man U did.

I reckon we’d be looking at around 20m from Saudi for Joelinton. He’s past his best and injury prone.

I don’t know yet if either of our strikers will be up to it long term, and tbh I prefer more physical strikers like Mateta. There’s zero chance we’re signing a starting striker in the next 18 months though IMO. Maybe a kid to replace Osula, but they will barely play.

Wanting him sacked right now is ridiculous, but no less ridiculous than thinking it’s impossible to replace him. Successful and talented managers do sometimes run out of road at a club, their tactics become stale and predictable, they stop getting reactions out of the players. He’s not doing a good job this season (or during the summer transfer window), he’s earned the time to turn it around, he hasn’t earned a permanent contract no matter what.
