I just don’t think the ability is there with Elanga, he doesn’t have much technical ability or smarts. Ramsey has more ability but seems completely ineffective away from the centre circle. I don’t have much hope for those two. Woltemade has ability but I have no idea what the plan is with him, he doesn’t fit our team at all. It’s strange to spend so much on a player that is such a different profile and not make any changes to fit them in. I think Wissa has been unlucky with his injury, it seems to have taken some athleticism away from him. I hope it’s not permanent because he’s not really got the technical ability to make up for it. Thiaw I have no problem with.

It’s crazy to think we’ve gone from having hit after hit, to possibly blowing £220m. The repercussions could be long lasting, it’s probably a big black mark against Howe for the owners and may take years to fix.

This is what I suspect has happened. I would want them to convince me they’ve fixed whatever went wrong in the summer before I gave them more.

With Wissa, Elanga, and Woltemade, I can see circumstances where they can contribute and influence games. But with Ramsey I really don’t see the point.

I think teams worked out how to play him. They get up close and bully him. He doesn’t have much strength or aggression so he doesn’t have much response to it.

I’m not seeing it at all with Ramsey. He’s inconsequential.

And we’ve let the transfer window pass us by.

Gordon and Wissa are very easy for defenders to deal with.

That would be a miracle and might actually make me religious.

He’d also be one of our top earners if he came here. He’s not that good anyway, he was worth going for because he was out of contract.

It’s absolute garbage. Watching how shit the rest of the league is actually makes me feel better about how poor we are, there’s clearly bigger issues that are having an effect.

He’s being crafty, like when he was denying knowledge of the Barnes signing when he was in the next room. I refuse to believe we’re not working on a signing.

No I don’t think so, but another £10m might make me think. He’s obviously talented so you can’t write him off, but I feel like we’ve bought him to play a role he’s not suited to and not that experienced in. We definitely need a new striker though IMO, Wissa can be considered a utility man to play across the front three when needed (no chance he’ll have a buyer).

I’ll see how Wissa and Woltemade do before the end of the season, but right now I don’t think Woltemade has the instincts of a striker and Wissa seems like an old man.

We need to fix both unfortunately.

A lot of us said at the time that Parish would rather sell for less to a big 6 club. I don’t think he was ever going to sell to us and I think he regrets nothing.

He might be getting paid off the books.

His agent has probably already got offers from everyone, Man City’s signing bonus and salary might be as good as what other clubs are offering for the summer.

I didn’t even realise Gordon was getting much grief.

He’s our second best left winger, you make it sound like he’d be irreplaceable.

A long time ago tbf, it’s been years since he had much end product.

Joelinton isn’t what he was but he has been far more effective than Ramsay this season. I still don’t think Ramsay makes much impact outside of being tidy in the middle of the pitch.
