He might be Matt Hancock’s pub landlord.

Even in todays market I’m not sure Onana is more than a £20m player.

The idea that we have to sell to rebuild when really we’re only a couple of years into this is insane. I suppose in 18 months or so we’d sell Isak too just so we can continue doing business. Citing West Ham and Villa is fine, but they haven’t actually achieved anything more than us yet, they haven’t broken into the cartel.

    Kieran Trippier

If we got our money back and he wants to go then it’s ok I suppose. I think Bayern are looking for cheap deals though. I’ve not seen any figures mentioned yet, other than them preferring a loan.

    Miguel Almirón

It’s infuriating that we have to do this, ideally we’d keep him as a squad player. Fucking league is rigged.

I don’t see Bayern offering near to enough for this to be worth our while. It’s a no for me.
  7. Because the Villa players got upset it seems.
  8. Bloke in the crowd waving a seagull.
  9. Clear pen, and it doesn’t matter if the foul started outside the box if it continues into the box. Commentators don’t know the rules.

But we didn’t even sell him to Brentford, not sure how that would work.

Gallagher isn’t what I want. I want players that can retain possession and control games, not another back and forth runner.

Perhaps, but you can also argue it works as long as it’s not getting them anywhere. Not sure Alvarez is that good though.

The fact he made his reputation in Bielsa’s Leeds team makes me optimistic. Leeds were far more like us stylistically than Man City. On the other hand is does slightly whiff of an Everton/West Ham signing. It’s hard to be opposed to it without knowing the other options and targets in other positions.
  14. Arguably the worst team in the league right now. The last two games are humiliating.
  15. The Glazers have taken him to school IMO.
  16. They should've waited a few more years before taking another run at this, there's still way too much bad feeling and suspicion.
  17. There was always too much money to be made for this to go away, and I’ve always been convinced that Chelsea’s valuation was based on them being a future ESL member. I’m not necessarily opposed to a European super league, but it has to be meritocratic, which I expect defeats the objective for the clubs pushing it. They want a closed NFL style gravy train. If we joined such a league, I’m not sure I could watch it.
  18. I picked the stats most suitable to comparing them. The Portuguese league is notorious for high scoring strikers that are pretty mediocre when they move to better leagues.
  19. Only if you count the Portuguese league. In the premier league; Isak 17 in 31 Watkins 49 in 126 Nunez 13 in 45
  20. He's obviously a more talented footballer than Nunez though, and he has a better scoring record. Nunez has his plus points but on a technical level he often looks like Andy Carroll. He was way ahead of Watkins in the guardians list as well. Madness IMO.
  21. That Isak is better than Nunez? Isak scores more and Nunez has the ball control of a horse.
  22. Knowing that the team will be toast after 10 minutes puts a dampener on things. I never thought I’d be aching for an international break.
  23. Team looked fucked physically all game tbh. This season is a nightmare.
